If there was a garbage minutes All-Star team, Chris MCcullough might be on it.

I'd like to see Oubre break out of this funk. He's pressing now, and seems to have lost some of his shooting confidence. C'mon Kelly. Let the game come to you.

True. You can't ignore this. Defenders used to cheat off of Sato, which took away spacing for others and it took away Sato's back door cuts. Now that he can shoot 3's, he's a problem for the opposition.

He's also significantly improved his ability to attack off the dribble and bring the ball up the court.

was still better than Burke/Jennings/Thornton last year though LOL

This.

Yeah, he had his weaknesses but personally, I thought he should have been allowed to work through his issues.

Look at game 7 against the Celtics for instance: You could clearly see John didn't have his legs at all. Perhaps a "developed" Tomas alleviates some of the pressure on John and then maybe we'd be talking about how the Wiz gave the Cavs a good battle in the conference finals.

You never know.

Man, Hezonja has some talent and he plays the game the right way. I would definitely take a flyer on that guy instead of Meeks.

i'm not convinced that Brooks is even going to trust him in this years playoffs. When Wall was healthy, Sato was getting about 11-12 minutes per game in an all bench lineup with no opportunity to really impact the game.

I'd be playing him 32 minutes per game at Pg,Sg,SF

Man, what a great performance. After a rough stretch from the bench unit in the first half, the Wizards just took care of business and put them away. That third quarter was ridiculous. Total domination. As NatP4 put it, it was like playing a video game in rookie mode.

First full game I've watched in a while. The offense looks beautiful. Ball moving around and not sticking. Still a bit skeptical they can keep this up. Seen this movie before, and I hope John is watching these games. I'm not a Wall hater like some around here but he needs to change his game. Love seeing what Sato is becoming.

I agree...but I'm not sure Scott has fully embraced "small ball".

Hopefully, he'll learn...quickly.

I actually don't think its John that needs to change.

Here's a theory of mine: When John's in the game I think players tend to stand around and watch him. Waiting for him to "do something".

But with Sato, because he isn't the one on one player John is, it forces the other guys to move without the ball. Sharper cuts etc et

Basically, I think some guys need to change how they react to John when he's in the game.

I could be totally wrong but that's just something I was thinking about last night.

Does that make any sense? lol

There's definitely something to that.

At the same time, we've seen them in the past play like this with John in the game. It was a season ago. It was that home winning streak. It was some of the playoff games and those quick starts and those blowout Ws.

The issue is always consistency.

What John can do more of is move without the ball, set a screen, and cut. That's the biggest thing Sato is doing on offense that's catching these teams off guard.

Sato also has fresh legs which at this point in the season is another big thing.

it makes perfect sense, maybe a part of it, not the entire story obviously. players also take selfish shots when Wall plays because they don't think they're going to get a better look as a team or another opportunity in the possession. example: Beal ISOing after Wall ISOs half the shot clock away.

there were alot of things wrong with this team 4 games ago, but they look excellent now, so we know it isn't Scott Brooks to blame for the horrific play before. (unless you blame him for not calling the star player out, which i don't"

but wizpride, you know Wall needs to change his game off ball and on defense, that is just unacceptable.

100% agree.

Hopefully, all of that will change for the better with a reasonably healthy Wall.

We'll see.
