Trade Deadline- February 8th, 3pm EST
We all know the deadline is approaching. So far, only two big moves have taken place. Blake Griffin to the Pistons and Mirotic to the Pelicans. Lots of names on the block in trade rumors. Kemba Walker, DeAndre Jordan, Tyreke Evans, Marcus Smart, Avery Bradley, Aaron Gordon, etc. With these moves, teams make counter roster moves to adjust lineups. Who do you see getting moved? And who do you think becomes available due to these moves?

I think the 76ers make a move. If they don't , they're stupid.

I'd love to have either lou will or hill off the bench once Reggie gets back. Could be one way to upgrade the bench. Lamb is another name that could be interesting.

Re: Trade Deadline- February 8th, 3pm EST
Lou Will would have came in Griffin deal if it was going to happen. Reke would have to come cheap since he'd be a pure rental. and Hill won't be traded to us as he essentially expires after next season and thus is a HUGE asset come trade deadline next season. If traded he'll be traded for expirings or one year remaining contracts.
I'll say Lou Will for Marcus Smart is the Boston move. Reke/Wright to Philly for FRP and Bayless.

I'd do it without a second thought. I don't care that he might not be the perfect fit. At the price he could be had for, you make that move. He's likely in a bad place mentally right now and a change of scenery would be like getting out of prison for him. He's also motivated to earn his next contract this off-season and is a bad stint here away from playing in China next year.

Re: Trade Deadline- February 8th, 3pm EST
Any trade for Leuer will see at least two year contract and $10M AAV coming back. Any trade for Galloway will see at least a two year contract and $7M AAV coming back. And trade for a combination of Leuer and Galloway will see at least all two year deals or more coming back and at least $17M AAV coming back.
Is there a 2 yr @ 10M AAV wing player to be had straight up for Leuer? Hell even a third year on the incoming deal would be acceptable.
Doing a quick look -
Leuer/Galloway - Bazemore, Batum, Marv. Williams, Plumlee, Luol Deng, Hardaway Jr, Noah, Fourier, Covington, Evan Turner, Geo Hill, Ingles
Leuer - JR Smith, Eric Gordon, Jeremy Clarkson, Henson, Georgui Deng, Solly Hill, C.Lee, Brandon Knight, Patty Mills
Note these are just two year or more deals with similar salaries - not any indication that they'd be available for our package without serious sweetener in some cases, we'd have zero interest in other cases.

Re: Trade Deadline- February 8th, 3pm EST
According to Marc Stein of the New York Times, the Nuggets are "among the teams" that have explored Marcus Smart trade scenarios with Boston.
The Nuggets have also been linked to Darren Collison recently, so it's clear they are looking for backcourt help at the deadline. Boston's asking price for Smart is a first-round pick, so it will be interesting to see if Denver pulls the trigger on a move like this. Smart would likely be used as a combo guard behind Jamal Murray and Gary Harris in Denver, similar to the role he already has. This would be bad news for Will Barton, though.

Which player would Denver be sending back? Looking at their roster it would probably be Barton given he's expiring.

Re: Trade Deadline- February 8th, 3pm EST
I don't expect another trade before the deadline, but with as much poor management out there anything's possible.
Would love to see a few players land here and if Stan is willing to swing for the fences who the hell knows?
3 days and we can just get on with it.

I think it might be Mudiay. Its been reported Denver has completely soured on him, and for Boston the prize would be the 1st and Boston would be about the best place for Mudiay to get it turned around.

I don’t know if Mudiay has any real value at this point. He’s one guy that I think can also benefit from a change. Something centered around Mudiay for Ellenson would be great

Don't know if this is just regurgitating old news or not - https://www.sltrib.com/sports/jazz/2018/02/05/thunder-bulls-and-pistons-all-interested-in-jazz-guard-rodney-hood-as-trade-deadline-nears/
The Jazz would like an asset for Hood, according to sources. A first round pick would be optimal. Last week, the Bulls garnered a first-rounder when they traded forward Nikola Mirotic to the New Orleans Pelicans. But the Bulls were forced to take on a bad contract — center Omer Asik — in return. It remains to be seen whether the Jazz would be willing to do that.
...
Detroit and Chicago are in a similar place as Oklahoma City personnel-wise. Hood would fit with the Pistons or the Bulls, who both need another guy who can shoot the basketball. Though he has been in and out with injuries, Hood is statistically having the best season of his career. He is averaging 16.4 points per game, a career-high and shooting almost 39 percent from 3-point range.

Hood for Ellenson / 2nd round pick
That's probably the cleanest trade that addresses needs. Hood is a legitimate wing scrorer who'll give much more than Henry and is likely better than anything we could hope to add in FA this summer. I don't think Henry ever gets a legitimate chance to show much here. I wouldn't offer more for Hood and if someone outbids us, it is what it is, but it's certainly not something I would scoff at if I'm Utah and have decided to move on.

I think all we do at the deadline is open a roster spot dumping Ellenson for a highly protected 2nd round pick and we sign a veteran who gets bought out after the deadline.

That would be quite the steal if so. Mudiay hasn't lived up to expectations, but he'd be worth the deal if Ellenson was our only loss. Plus, it'd give the roster more balance.
