Wow. MJ's plan is probably to keep Clifford and replace Cho with an even worse GM.

Haven't seen anything one way or the other on Cliff.

Charlotte
The Hornets continue to field calls on Kemba Walker, but no Walker deal gets done unless a team absorbs one of the handful of bad contracts on Charlotte’s roster, sources said. Another variable at play: The future of GM Rich Cho. Cho is in the final year of his contract and there have been rumblings that former Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak is a favorite among high-ranking team officials to take over next summer. If Hornets owner Michael Jordan is resolved to replace Cho, he may not sign off on dealing Charlotte’s most appealing asset.

Let's just re-brand as the Charlotte Tar Devils. Half our players end up coming from UNC and Duke anyway

He's a lot better at drafting players than Cho but this Carolina MJ buddy system crap irks me!

Mitch wasn't even 'bad' as much as he was hamstrung. Dude can draft and made a lot of good trades. This would be a very different situation than the one he had in LA, but it might actually be a solid fit.

I like Mitch. He got a bad rap in LA.

Clifford likes our backup PG situation. It’s not a problem to him. He’s been going out of his way to give MCW more playing time lately lol.

Real question for the cap experts among us: Say we trade Batum and Kemba to Cleveland for Tristan Thompson, JR Smith, and the BRK pick for arguments sake. Just roll with me here.

Let's say Tristan and JR aren't too enthused about coming to a team like ours, and choose not to report. They negotiate buyouts so they can both sign with contenders, and they go off and sign with HOU or GS or whomever. What counts against our cap? Not really concerned with this year, because this year's a lost cause anyway. Do both their contracts then just simply come off our books and we have that cap space going forward?

Asking for a friend.
Who I woulda took:
2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

I think the big problem will be finding a long-term starting PG once they brainfart the best one they'll ever have away for trash.

Is there any way we can do a Zeller for Gortat/Oubre/1st type deal? Would love to pick up assets and downgrade at backup center
