The Miami pick is sitting at 20 right now. Would you go top 18 protected?

Nope they are currently at 17 http://www.tankathon.com/

Top 18 protected then

At this point, I'm just resigned to Milwaukee staying in the 20s, and at least we'll get their 2nd this year; we'll get their 1st Next year, or the year after, for sure...or we'll trade it.

However, if we don't get their 2nd, which is protected for 31-47, this year, it goes away forever.

No big deal, right? Well, yeah, but with our luck, they'll finish EXACTLY 17th, and we'll miss out on both, since the picks are protected:

1st - 1-10 & 17-30

2nd - 31-47

Those sneaky bastards...and again, with our luck that's exactly what would happen, so let them be good, so we at least have one more pick to use as a trade chip or to select a player we can discuss to fill up a few pages here and there on Draft night and Pre-season that brings snippets of enjoyment to talk about a prospect that will likely never even make the NAZ Suns.

Tankathon has the pick at 17. It's a good pick. I hope the Heat strike out at the deadline

If we can land Wall and keep Booker and Jackson I would do it in a heart beat. Dude is a beast. The fact that he is locked up through 2023 is a good thing. I don't mind paying for talent. Any all-star over 26 is going 5o have a huge salary and a team needs one or twonof those guys to compete.

Yeah I looked at draft.net and they hadn't updated in a week. A lot can change in the stankings (tank standings) in a week

Seriously. 1-8 are separated by ONLY 2 GAMES in the loss column! That's crazy tight and probably why we don't make a move for Dinwiddie.

I think he is hinting that he would prefer to go to Brooklyn.

It is fake news. The article says that if there is a team willing to part with a second round pick, they might be available. What would be the point of that? We would have to take back significant salary to move them. No second round pick would be a catalyst in such a trade. We already have more than we need.

A better first round pick? Well now maybe . . .

Why would Blazers trade him?

They spent all their cap space to apease him and build around him and McCollum.

They are fine.. They just need a high impact SF.

Yeah, he just met with the owner about how to build for the future and re-affirm their commitment. McCollum very likely not going anywhere either.

OK, we'll take Nurkic and Harkless instead...

...for Warren.

Nor sure if it appears as a fair trade; I know Nurkic is their starting Center, but Warren is our starting SF. We could take on Meyers Leonard and Aminu while giving them Chandler and BK, if they feel those players might be useful...IDK, doubt it.

It's tough to assess Warren's value, since he's productive, yet not a shooter. Nurkic would appear to be the better value and better player. We'd have to throw in a 1st, most likely, but that gets us a Center, and Harkless may not be completely done as a SF; just might have been a down year.

I still think Rodney Hood is a diamond in the rough.

Could be a Stephen Jackson v2.0 with discipline, which is a borderline star. And such a good 3pt shooter.

I like Warren but Jackson will take over the slashing role soon enough. What the suns need is another reliable elite 3pt shooter.

I like this lineup at the perimeter.

G Booker
G Hood or Jackson
F Jackson or Hood

Have Jackson cover the team's PG defensively... He's quick enough. But have Booker run the ball handling offensively with Jackson as secondary.

Then have a scoring PG off the bench who can also shoot the 3pt... Maybe Lin, Clarkson or heck even a rejuvenated Knight.

Then you can afford to have a center like Derrick Favors (signed cheaply) or even Brook Lopez who could dominate inside.

Then have Bender or Chriss at the PF spot... Bender rotating to center... And a veteran rebounding bruiser to backup either at the PF spot.

Also re-sign Troy Daniels... More shooter the better.

What are we going to do with 4 x 2nd rounders - Phoenix, Memphis, Milwaukee, Toronto.

I'd like to package them (with a player if necessary) for a future 1st.

Yeah, I mentioned those protections right when the trade details came out...I'm guessing it was an error or oversight..and they messed up...at least on the Suns side...because the whole point is to get a 2nd this year if we don't get the first yet. So yeah, I've figured they'd land right there as well. I wish the first rounder was 11-17 where we got it...I think we limited the protection a bit too much on the back end..and maybe that it how we initially had it and then we decided to take it back to 16, but didn't adjust the second rounder.

Sell them for cash and watch good teams draft and stash guys like Ginobili or worse draft the kid from ORegon that the Warriors got

you are right, three, potentially 4 second rounders - call the Knicks about HErnangomez; call the Nets about Dinwiddie

Throw two seconds at the Nets for Dinwiddie. We have a plethora of 2nd round picks and Dinwiddie is at worst a back up PG for us next year.
