Bellinelli sitting tonight due to active trade talks.
Due to our new exemption, can we be the team going after him? He makes a decent amount doesn't he?

We cant as he makes $6,060,606 and the Leuer DPE is $5.25M(give or take), also we're only 2M under the tax, and if we go over it we'd only have the tax-payers MLE to use in the off-season.

I can't imagine a team trading for him - I guess he and Dedmon for a $10M expiring and a couple second rounders would make sense for a contender.

Maybe Philadelphia for Amir Johnson's expiring...

He makes $6.6 Million
So if we deal Ellenson for him that opens up roster spot plus allows us to absorb the rest of his contract right?

Oops sorry didn't see you respond. So what scenario could we get him while still staying under the luxury tax?
I know rumor is that they'll buy him out but maybe we want to get him before that happens so we don't lose him signing with another team.

So if we have the $5.2 million exception for Luer.

If we use the $7.1 million exception for Boban and the MLE this offseason. That could really throw some depth on the wings. Of course if Gores is willing to spend. I dont see him trading for Blake and not spending.

Leuer exception can only be used for ROS one year deals or traded for an expiring player. I do think we would acquire Bird Rights though if we traded for an expiring player.

Thats what i was hoping for.

Even our 2nd round pick this year is tough for me to give up. Just such limited ways to improve the team!

Wait until he's bought out. We just don't have salary/asset match to trade for him. Atlanta doesn't want to take on longer deals so Galloway and Leuer options are out - we'd need to attach a future first to maybe get them to answer the phone. Probably could use Johnson/Ellenson but we're not doing that.

Afflalo is on an expiring, anybody think he might get bought out by Orlando?

If so, he's be an interesting option to bring in.

Belleneli being held out of the game by the Hawks because a trade is imminent. Phoenix also making Dudley available (one of the better 3pt shooters in the NBA but has a large contract about the size of Jon L for two more seasons as well).

Dudley is only signed through next season it seems. I can't see PHX taking on an extra year for a second rounder.
