Wall vs. Gortat

Now that we've gone from subtweet to on the record quote: does this deserve its own thread?

That first tweet is taken out of context...

Read on Twitter

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

so Wall says something like that, why can't any other player on the team say "yeah we've lost about 10-15 games because our point guard is shooting 41% and doesn't try on defense"

again, this is supposed to be the leader of the team

Wall and Gortat share in blame here. Wall for being this frank, Gortat for beginning this drama in the first place. Wall's short comings are well documented this season, no one is going to defend that, but I'd wager his offensive production is probably mostly down cause being injured. His problems on switching and dying on defense is matter that extends to last season :nonono:

You also seem to have it in for Wall more then most... this coming from a fellow Sato believer

My only real problem with this is that it makes it harder to trade Gortat AND Wall (though I don't think Wall is going anywhere until at least next trade deadline). :noway:

Is it not true tho? I don't know where people can find stats that show contested vs non contested buckets but it would be interesting to see.

And Bradley Beals girl completely TRASHED gortat in via twitter... and Brads defending Wall publicly. So I think we obviously see where the battle lines are drawn... Wall and Beal against Gortat- because there is no way Beal and Wall would publicly go at Gortat for having a bad rebound game or for that tweet.

Remember all that crap I said about loving this team cause we were drama free... well that’s changing. I still think wall is the most talented player and When healthy the best player- but gortat and wall can’t co-exist anymore. Also if you guys don’t think Beal was attacking Gortat via his girls twitter account you guys are too old to understand the passive aggressiveness of the current social-media generation. It’s all “slick burn” Drake bars (I’m sorry I got nieces and nephews) and “you let his girl say that about you” crap- It’s never direct Biggie/PAC crap... it’s all this KD, Bradley Beal, Gortat slickness- John just asking for beef sayin it on ESPN... but that’s that country boy in him and it’s honestly not leadership. Blame the coach...can you imagine Pop or Belichick dealing with this? No— that’s the problem - the wizards are tolerant of unprofessional behavior .

we're missing a basic point here, Gortat tries on defense, Wall does not. Wall makes max money and is the face of the franchise and self proclaimed leader of the team, Gortat is a role player.

And you could probably say that Gortat's fumbling passes, missing layups etc could have been the difference in a close game as well.

Heck, you could say Otto's lack of aggressiveness at times MIGHT have cost us a few games as well.

See how that works?

But John has never called Gortat out publicly at least that I can remember.

And that's why its not smart to say things like Gortat did (imo) because you open yourself up.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

that last point is a great one. neither of those two coaches would put up with this (though I think Pop is massively overrated)

Ooh, I really wish John didn't make that most spoon-fed assist ever comment. It takes both of them to complete those baskets. Geebus John. A leader can think that - not say it in front of a camera.

Peace Gortat...you were good....some of the time.

That said, I expected more from Wall in terms of maturity.

Remember Stephen A Smith's comments about how certain teammates were talking behind both John and Brad's back?

Yeah....

John didn't take shots at anyone on twitter. He's praised Brad and said he was the MVP of our team. He praised Otto for stepping his game up this season. Praised Kieff, Sato, etc.

And John speaks to the media after every game. He's been in DC for 7 years and I've never heard of him declining to give a postgame interview or refuse to take responsibility. So yes, that's what a leader does. I've been to dozens of Wizards games and I see Wall acting as a leader and organizing his team. I've never seen Gortat any displaying leadership. He's an overpaid, whiny manchild

Gortat was out of line making that kind of tweet(and it's not the first time he's done this, he has a looong history of being immature and whiny) , and it's about time that he gets checked for it publicly because he apparently hasn't learned his lesson.
