After each Suns game, an MVP thread will be opened for you to vote for your top 3 players. These threads can be created by anyone, as long as there isn't currently a thread for that game.
Anyone can vote for the 3-2-1 (including other fans from other forums) but you can only vote for the Suns players (or coach).
3 votes to who you think was a the best Suns player. 2 for the second best and 1 for the 3rd best.
**EDIT: as of January something-or-other 2017, you can now distribute votes for the Nashty and Cactus however you please. You have a total of 6 votes to give out, but now you have the freedom to do what you want with those 6. The only condition which applies is no more than 3 votes can be given to one player (or coach) in either award. **
In the event of a Suns loss, you are also encouraged to vote for the Cactus of the game:
-3 votes for the player most responsible for the loss -2 votes for the second most responsible -1 for the third most responsible
Any votes with more than 3 players listed and not in the required format will not count. Voting will close before the start of the next Suns game.
After the thread closes, the votes will be tallied. The highest scoring total Sun gets 3 points, the next 2, and the third gets 1 point towards their season total. In the event of a tie in a count for a game, if the result of the game is a Suns win, a maximum of 4 players will be awarded points. A tie in the event of a loss will only result in a maximum of 3 players getting awarded points.
The player with the highest total at season's end wins the award!
The same applies for the Cactus of the Year, although of course the lowest tally at year's end takes it.
+3 Warren - nice to see 4 steals and 3 assists with no turnovers in addition to the 22 +1 Jackson - besides the poor shooting and 3 turnovers, was really active +1 Chriss - slow start with some bad body language but shot well (though one was a lucky bank), got some assists, blocks, boards +1 Chandler - had some assists in addition to the normal boards and finishes
-3 Daniels...if all you can do is shoot, better hit them -1 Ulis...not terrible, but need to cut down on turnovers -1 Len...get some minutes, turn it over, get a couple of fouls...didn't add anything -1 Bender...I liked his aggression and he went for more boards...and fought for them and had some great passes, but really bad shooting night, but even the fact he shot more 2s than 3s is a good sign imo..but a couple turnovers as well
When asked how Fascism starts, Bertrand Russell once said: "First, they fascinate the fools. Then, they muzzle the intelligent."
+2 JJ - was hoping to witness his first 20/10 game but I'll settle for 16/10/2blks +2 TJ - solid game from the guy, contributing in other ways than just scoring with a couple of assists while taking care of the ball +2 Chriss - All-around game for the big man. 10/6/3/2 in 19mpg is a great effort
-3 Daniels - Doesn't do a whole lot aside from shooting 3's and when he goes 2 for 10, it's going to hurt the team -2 Bender - didn't want to give him the -2 but he's gotta do better than 6 boards as an athletic 7 footer with good fundamentals in 38minutes of playing time. 4 assists was nice though -1 Ulis - Still don't like watching him play but did drop a couple of nice dimes on 3 TO's
+3 Warren. He played really well until the last five minutes of the game, great effort on defense. He is rock solid. +2 Jackson. Not a good first half but he doesn't stop playing hard and he was better on the second. He overplays on defense yet. +1 Chandler. He made his job.
-2 Daniels. He is absolutely terrible on everything but shooting threes. So easy to score on him. -2 Bender. Randle enjoyed the game. Oh my... -1 Ulis. His size is a big disadvantage on both sides. -1 Len. He doesn't know how to play basketball at this level.
