its not really that hard to see how the coaches vote for this.

What were the records of the Heat and Sixers at the time the coaches voted for the All-Star team?

Simmons may not have made the all star team for the sole factor of being a rookie but I will be shocked if at seasons end he isn’t a consideration for the all nba 3rd team

The league will simply choose Kemba Walker, Lou Williams, Blake Griffin before Ben Simmons. I don't think the league has any conference preferences now that there is no EAST/WEST teams.

Hard for NBA rookies to get chosen. And do you really want your first all star game to be chosen as the 3RD injury replacement. Almost like the NFL pro bowl games where the 3rd alternate gets chosen since the other 2 guys don't want to play.

I’m sure Ben wouldn’t mind. He can then say he’s been to the all star game every year of his career if he’s only going to play better from this point on. I’m sure it’s also an easier platform to being not only an all star, but a starter moving forward.

The league kinds treats Ben like a legit future allstar anyway unlike when Kuzma or Ingram drops 30 and they have doubts and feels its a fluke. Just hear TnT's broadcast last night and their respect for Ben

My buddy who's in DC and doesn't follow the sixers. So he's watched Sixers twice now within the past 5 days (Pacers/Wizards) and he immediately said Simmons is gonna to be a super star. He hadn't seen Simmons play at all.

He also said who is this clown Embiid trying a 3 point hook shot at the half and that Embiid looks so slow.

So many basketball fans outside of Philadelphia really do not know much about our two stars.

The league has both explicitly said they're replacing injured guys with people from their own conference and done it the three previous time guys have gotten injured.

I think Kemba is still ahead of ben. But with the way these injuries are going who knows ben may be starting for team Lebron in a week with TJ backing him up.

I think Kemba deserves to be the next man up.

Ben’s time will come probably as soon as next year.

I would tend to give the nod to Kemba if for nothing else, i want Ben to get selected not as a 'replacement' or 'put an astrix next to his all-star' selection

Agree with that but the flip side is spending time with LBJ, PG, Irving etc. Thats invaluable.

He's going to be at all-star weekend regardless. He just won't play in the game that nobody bothers watching or cares about.

Seriously does anyone bother even watching the game anymore? 3 pointer, Dunk contest, skills challenge............................... all-star game in that order. In fact I would even say I have more interest watching the rookie/sophomore game than the all-star game. I don't really need to see more of Lebron, Harden, Curry and co.... I get force fed it enough during the season by ESPN and TNT.

Oh I don’t care about the actual game, but the honor of being an all star is meaningful.

I think that Embiid deserves it based on his play. He is one of the top 10 players in the league today.

Is Simmons one of the top 24? IMO he isn’t there yet. He will get there in time, but not today.

Ben seems to be posting more on offense, which is working well IMO.

We can explore running BB's fast paced & heavy passing system with our starting unit. And just simplify our offense with either Ben or Biid posting up.

The only thing that matters is winning a championship, being an all star is not relevant.

So you feeling slighted, Ben? Learn to ******* shoot!!

I’m glad he’s getting passed over. He needs motivation to stop disappearing for games on end.

But mainly he just needs to learn to shoot, even if it means switching hands. Get it done. Even just 33% from 3 and he would be unstoppable.

? What? He doesn't disappear for games on end... When has he? In the last 17 games hes only playing 32 minutes per and averaging 17 points with about a 60 TS%.

This seems like a really random post just to attack him while he's playing the best basketball that he has all season.

Dragic should not be an All Star, he actually hasn't been good this season and was rewarded for his team being a top 4 seed at the time, which they're now currently 7th in the standings... If that selection was today then Kemba would get it then Simmons would easily be chosen over Dragic in the next selection. Meanwhile Kemba does have better stats, but his team continues to lose and are now 9 games under .500.

(33% from 3 is the same points per shot as shooting 50% from two or 50% from free throw, he's more efficient scoring how he is, although how they defend him may be beneficial)

Exactly, Ben is a winner and he could care less about stats, he only scores when the team needs it, he is a consummate teammate.
