I think they are trying to erase everything Phil related that isn't KP. Alienated Noah and Willy in the same way but on a different scale. Been un-developing Frank. They gave Horney Ron so he would feel like he was involved and contribute to the cause. Horney hasn't figured out that he is Phil related too.

This is a bad trade, I assume they are going after Payton and BB.

Don't pull that crap now, hindsight is 20/20. We had some talent and decided to see where this team would be going and for the beginning we were right up there.

Everyone is a goddamn gm on this forum that knows better than the management who has been doing their thang for years. I am sick of it.

Doesn't justify this trade though

Honestly what did you expect to get for willy??

A first round pick?? Hell no.

umm last year he could have gotten one...and if he played well over this next 30 game stretch its not far fetched to believe we couldn't have gotten one either due to his age and contract...

F**k sakes. Even if you dont like Willy you had to admit he had potential. Dude was a good passer and pnr player and could post up. He was also on a great cheap contract and KP's best friend. This trade is stupid and idiotic no matter how you swing it. This coming from me who generally tries to look on the brightside of a lot of moves the Knicks make.

Teams pray that second-round picks become first-team All-Rookies, as Hernangomez did last season.

This is wasting an asset, which the Knicks are pros at.

What is your point about those second rounders who were waived? What about Draymond, Jokic, Whiteside, Parsons, Crowder, Middleton, Brogdon, Crabbe, Clarkson, Deandre, Powell, Isaiah?

That second rounders are throw-aways. They carry little-to-no value

Fields, Shumpert, Frye, Gallo, Nate...Knick fans have a tendency to slightly overrated their own prospects. I'm surprised we got two 2nds for Willy. Hilarious some expected a first, let alone Monk.

Dude is still going on about this.

You have no idea what maximizing assets means, do you?

This is not the same case as the other players you mentioned at all. Nearly everyone here acknowledges what Willy is.

The only hilarious thing is you schilling for this trade and then pretending that you're not.

I think I would know my own thought process better than you would. I'm not schilling for anything. I'm being logical and realistic, something you know nothing about. People like you who constantly overreact to things like this, minor deals involving mediocre players will never get old to me. You'd have thought we just dealt away a some crazy talented asset for nothing. Tell me then, what would you have considered to be an acceptable package in return?

Sure. But no one wanted him then

Or trade Willy before camp

Shouldn't go into the season with 4 guys who all play the same position and all expect minutes

Normally, I'm all for patience, but this was a situation where we could've easily avoided all this

is trading willie really selling? he's a young skilled big on a cost effective contract. you got 2 second rounders but chances you find one as good as willie are slim.

selling is dumping vets for picks, not young cost effective skilled players for 2nd rounders. hahn's tweet is not supported by the willie move.

Dude none of our vets are getting us picks. Our vets are overpaid and trash.

Nobody in their rite minds are giving us picks for lee, jack, beasley and oquinn.

What does trading Willy have to do with keeping Kanter past his deal?

We as fans are overvaluing Willy. Yes, he had a very good rookie year, but people seem to forget that he came into camp out of shape. We had a ton of pages analyzing a picture and trying to decide whether he was overweight. The times he got in this season he really didn't do much. I remember in particular we were blowing out a team, not sure which one, and he came in for garbage time and he still couldn't do anything.

Let's be real with ourselves, Willy was NEVER worth a first rounder. We got two second round picks and a player who is the same age and drafted in roughly the same spot (2nd Round, 36th Pick - 2014) as Willy (2nd Round, 35th Pick - 2015).

My guess is O'Bryant doesn't see any time at all and the picks are flipped in order to move Noah.

I like how everyone becomes GM's on here talking about what the Knicks should of done but having zero idea on what other teams were offering but they somehow would of gotten a better deal for Willy. lol

My point precisely...don't you think they would have taken a better if ANYONE was offering one?

Everyone on the message boards has all the answers on how to get the best return possible for players.

Ferguson would be a nice addition for Lee and/or KOQ, wonder how desperate OKC is.

What if the warriors call us up with the 30th pick and a player (mccaw or Looney) for 1 of those Charlotte picks and Oquinn? maybe that's what's happening as we speak ...

Lol that's what I was thinking. It's more of a throw in to top off the actual value from a deal.

People saying he sucked and saying that playing him would lesser his value more don't realize that we pretty much got nothing in return from this move.

Let the kid play and build back up his value again and decide wether he's a keeper or hot garbage. If it doesn't pan out then we can go back and get an obryant kind of player and trash second rounders.

This was a bad move period.

HEZI once had Eddy Curry dominating the league. I'll choose to believe Willy will still be in the league by 2021.

I was actually one of the few that was completely against the Eddy Curry trade and wanted no part of it when rumors came out we were after him. You're full of shyt

These are 2020 and 2021 second rounders. We have no idea what number they will be.
