Hernangomez is definitely better than Zeller, 5 years younger, and has two years left cheap after this one. Honestly, I would take giving up an additional 2nd to get him over Zeller.

so two possible picks which could be around 40 compared to one one pick most likely 50+.

Think MJ makes moves to compete this year still?

I think part of it is what are you asking them to do. Wouldn't surprise me if we got the guy we thought was the best fit for what we need.

Also, let's keep in mind we gave up a protected second round pick which has basically no value compared to two second rounders from a rebuilding team.

I don't see Hernangomez as anything special just because he's young. Still a solid trade for them, but two unprotected 2nd's vs. 1 protected 2nd for Zeller? Yeah, I prefer the Zeller deal hands down, especially when he's locked up for super cheap next year too.

I would too, but I'm not really upset because I actually have no clue if Hernangomez makes your team better. I mean the dude couldn't get PT on the Knicks who are trying to win, it must say something. At least advanced metrics show Zeller as a reliable contributor

We're looking to win, Charlotte is looking at a total tear down. Those seconds could in the 30s and have substantially more value than what we gave up.

If Charlotte gives up 2 seconds and salary filler for him, what on earth makes anyone think that an offer of 2 Milwaukee 2nds gets it done? We'd have to add to that, we're project far better as a team thus worse as a pick slot.

and Charlottes 2nd rounders may actually have value.

Yep, our 2nd is likely going to Phoenix is this year. We need to finish 20-9 to get to 50 wins, Charlotte probably lands in the lottery. We basically got Zeller in the short term for free I still don't see anything wrong with the trade we made. Although I wanted Willy too I probably would've moved 2 2nds and Vaughn for him.

Kanter, KP, and KOQ in front of him for mins at the 5. He did very well last year as a rookie, no reason to think he just sucks now.

I'd have been fine with either deal. However, i'm pretty sure NY would look at our of future 2nds and not be too pumped since they should all be in the last 5-10 picks of the draft and go with this deal instead.

Charlotte hasn't made a single move indicating a total rebuild. Let's wait and see what they do at the deadline before saying that.

Hornets don’t trade unprotected 2nd round picks if they are going full rebuild.

Jordan might want to “retool” or basically stay mediocre while rebuilding.

Imagine at least 1 of Zeller / Howard / Frank are on the move.

Dwight to Cleveland maybe?

Lebron and Howard deserve each other.

Looks like a stupid move from NY. Trade away the young guy (who is about to see some actual time with Porzingis out) for some picks you won't see for two years and play Enes Kanter and Kyle O'Quinn instead.

Never said he sucks, he's just an unknown this year because of his situation on the Knicks. I'm fine with Bucks going with the known contributor for less

I'm really bummed out about Porzingis. I really hope he's going to be ok long-term. I know an ACL isn't a death sentence by any means but I would think things are always a bit scarier/uncertain when you're talking about a skinny 7'3" guy over a relatively normal sized NBA player.

Periodic reminder that Michael Jordan's pattern of bad judgment includes a period of time in which he grew and maintained a mustache very similar to one popularized by Adolf Hitler.

Willy is going to be 24 before the end of the season and couldn't get a whiff of the floor on a really bad team. I don't understand the fascination with him. He is TO prone and his rebounding fell off a cliff from last season. And two early seconds is probably worth as much as the next 1st we could offer. No thanks. I think Zeller will be a great stopgap for the next two years. I think the team is still hopeful that Thon can be a contributor at that time, though I doubt that ever comes to pass.

KOQ is a FA next year and we didn't want to spend money AND assets. So we got a guy that makes a ton of sense.
