Am I wrong for thinking Johnny O'Bryant isn't that bad a pick up. He is having a solid season and the man can put up points when called upon on . I am not saying he is a Big 3 player for us but he could be a quality player for the Knicks

He has already failed.

In the "growth and development" year where we could have boosted young players growth and ended up with a top 3 pick, he sat back and watched Jeff mismanage the youth in an attempt to get to the playoffs yet fall miserably short.

Don't forget that KOQ will probably opt out after this season and Kanter can do the same but will likely not stay after the next season. So then we will need a backup C and we will have to pay a lot of money for a role that Willy could be good enough for buy for a much smaller contract.

We’ll probably re-sign JOB to a 4 year/30 mil deal in the offseason and then by the summer attach a pick to dump him

I think most of us forget players do improve and get better as years go by... but anywho... we are NY and can't wait. I never knock picks... because you never know with them. Definitely knew Willy wasn't worth a first (Thanks Horny) .... Thought we might gotten a prospect like, D.Bacon back and a 2nd... but I'll take the two seconds and move on...

Just wonder how KP feels about this? Also Willy still won't see playing with the Hornets...Howard, Zeller and Frank are there.

Willy right now

Frye + Cleveland 1st round (not BK pick) for KOQ and Beasley!!!!!
In short, all I am saying is RJ-Brunson-Grimes-Quickley-Randle are the untouchables moving forward.

I don't care what your opinion is of WHG, you showcase a guy to build his value, then dump him to the highest bidder. You don't destroy a guy's value coming off an All Rookie season, THEN trade him. Perry and Mills are a pair of schmucks. I hate this team.

He seems more like a Modern Big, Coach said he has improved on his passing and is a great scorer. I am assuming he needs to work on his rebounding and defense. But his Coach said he is becoming a better overall player. I believe he is 24

Cliff notes version:

Some are upset we didn't get Monk.

Some are upset we didn't get a first.

Some are upset we didn't play him and up his value to obtain that first.

Or something.

Shoutout to KOQ and Kanter for being professionals and not going after Hernangomez. Because during this whole situation, he was basically saying he's better, and should be playing before those two. I don't know how they do it in Spain, but that doesn't fly around these parts. Go out there and earn it.

Backup centers going forward will be cheaper than you think.

WHG is a bum. I was excited about this kid his rookie year. I've seen enough from him this season to be fine with getting rid of him.

First of all, he clearly didn't work on his game during the offseason. He wasn't in shape and he didn't add anything to his game. For a guy desperate to get playing time, he sure phoned it in on the defensive end every time he was on the court. If I don't want Kanter with his high effort w/ poor defense, why would I want Willy?

SHowcasing willy or not you weren't getting a 1st rounder for him. He is what he is.... a low ceiling bench big. He has too many flaws right now to project him to be anything else than that...
