You can get as rich as you want while alive but upon death you can not keep passing it down because it rigs the game for the wealthy creating what is essentially a permanent ruling class not unlike royalty of europe.

Trump double'd the exemption for the estate tax.

Eliminating the estate tax is bad economics though. You want people planning for the future, and one incentive to plan for the future is to leave something behind for your kids. Take that away and you lower the time horizon nationwide, which makes it harder to avoid the "only cheat" outcome of infinitely repeated prisoner's games. In English it means you get more corruption, not less.

I think I would agree with you Zonk except that if you are wealthy and have good lawyers, you can shelter your assets. A study of the tax called it a voluntary tax, because you can avoid paying with the right legal advice (see carveouts for charitable giving).

In addition, their is a real negative effect on small business and family farms. Those same small businesses that we need to become big employers and those same farms that we don't want to become part of a mega farm.

Not fake news, but a web of a bunch of elites out to get him that need to be put in their place because how could it possibly be anything else?

Yeah the stock market booming over the last month was a false flag to lull everyone to sleep

You're saying it would be bad for an onerous estate tax to break up family businesses and farms right? In which case I agree with you.

So the AMAZING! stock market rise since Trump's election was in fact a response to bad news? And when we finally had some good news (Patriots lose Super Bowl?), it crashed? What a topsy turvy world we live in!

Laughable, white is black and black is white. It was entirely predictable that the Whitehouse and their foot soldiers, ARE going to redact the hell out of Dem memo to the point of it being useless, watch.

Here's what I don't understand - all the data cited in the memo is unclassified, right, so if all the Dems are doing is rebutting what's in the old memo, can't they just do that now since everything is unclassified now?

Even pictures aren't enough for Kelly & Sanders not to defend Porter!
“Trump's chief of staff John Kelly said Porter "is a man of true integrity and honor and I can’t say enough good things about him. He is a friend, a confidante and a trusted professional. I am proud to serve alongside him."

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders also defended Porter, who is reportedly dating White House advisor Hope Hicks, saying that the aide "is someone of the highest integrity and exemplary character."

“WASHINGTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) -- The second wife of President Trump's staff secretary Rob Porter tells The Daily Mail that she was abused by the aide.

Jennifer Willoughby told the online publication that she was "walking on eggshells" due to Porter's explosive anger.

"I can't remember what triggered it. He lashed out and was really angry and both under his breath and explicitly to me called me a f****ng b***h and f***ing ridiculous. He accused me of not caring about him or not caring about his needs," Willoughby said.”

Republican plot on the Democratic Memo!
“I think the Democrats are politically smart enough to put things in the memo that require either the bureau or the Department of Justice to say it needs to be redacted. Therefore, it creates this belief that there’s something being hidden from the American people,” Gowdy told Fox News’ Martha MacCallum.

“Unfortunately, we’re in an environment where you would include material that you know has to be redacted and you know responsible people are going to redact it just so that questions will be asked,” he added.

We all love sports!
That's was what brought us to Real GM in the 1st place.
But it is alarming when cities and counties bend over and have the public raped by the various sports leagues.
Yes it happens in Canada but not to the degree as in the USA.
Toronto has venues for Hockey/Basketball/Concerts no public funding, Baseball no public funding, Soccer/CFL some land but no public funding. Each of the sports are highly profitable without public funding so why do other cities do it?

This is about Atlanta and Cobb County funding the new Brave Stadium worth the read.

Rational approach to gerrymandering in OHIO with kudos to both parties.
The constitutional amendment would also require at least 65 counties to be drawn wholly into a congressional district. New maps could not divide the cities of Cleveland or Cincinnati between districts.

“This plan ends the process of stretching districts far across the state, while maintaining the importance of the historic Voting Rights Act,” said state Sen. Matt Huffman (R), the sponsor of the compromise plan.

releasing it in MEMO format gives it credibility. Simply stating facts in front of a camera does absolutely nothing

It's an understandable error. It's hard to tell the difference between the Trump campaign and the Russian government.

Where does Trumpster get these Cabinet Secretaries?

Never in the history of American government have so many Troglodytes been setting policy.
The EPA administrator said that humans are contributing to climate “to a certain degree”, but added: “We know humans have most flourished during times of warming trends. There are assumptions made that because the climate is warming that necessarily is a bad thing.
