If you're SVG, is trading Reggie Jackson an option?

Deadline is just a day away and there are a lot more "sellers" than buyers apparently. Would you consider moving Reggie in a deal that would bring back either an upgrade at PG or a good wing player and backup PG?

Do you worry that he's Drummond's best friend on the team and it might create issues with Dre being unhappy or can you not let that affect trades that could improve your franchise.

Absolutely you consider trading him still. I'm not as hell bent on dumping him or anything at the moment but that's a contract of ours that should always be shopped

He's gonna be a big help though as that other shot creator on the floor with Blake. I've been really liking Ish with this group too though so hopefully all goes smooth

No. I think he plays out the year here, but then all bet's are off come the off-season. Dre's new BFF is Griffin, I think Reggie could be traded now without really angering Dre. I have doubts Jackson and Johnson can start together, meaning one will have to accept 6th man roll and I don't think either would. Not to mention if they can't play together at all it means limited minutes for one or the other.

But let's see how the ROS plays out with Reggie to see how he looks here with Blake and Dre. Ideally he should come off the benchhis first 5-8 games back and gradually build his minutes. Can't throw him right back in as the starter.

It's not his team anymore. It never was, it was Dre's but Dre is a Robin, not a Batman. And before Griffin deal, Reggie was Batman by default. If Reggie would have been traded, Dre would have sulked and probably demanded a trade. Now Reggie will have to bend to the will of Stan Van more because he's tradeable now. He's no longer the shot caller.

Is trading RJ an option? The simple answer is "yes". But, consider what his trade stock is right now and what type of teams would want in return.

RJ can't play right now. We have no idea when he'll suit up, and whether or not he'll be anywhere near 100% this season. Even when he was healthy and playing well early in the season, he clearly lacked the explosiveness he had a couple years ago. No clue if that will ever return.

A team trading for him wants him to perform well over the duration of his contract. Right now, that's a huge unknown. If you trade RJ now, you're probably taking on bad money and that's about it.

I think RJ is a good player who is pretty fairly payed. I think we should keep him and try to add another piece to RJ/Griffin/Drummond.

The only player that won't be traded is Griffin. 99% that Dre won't be traded. Everyone else can be had for the right deal.

Ricky Rubio and Rodney Hood for RJ and Henry Ellison... yeah, I bet he's gone.
...

But really, I think that Luke stays, probably Stanley stays.

Ellison, gallaway, moreland, Leuer... those and picks and taking back bad contracts are just about the only way it happens.

so this year, lower level guys or over priced guys. I'm thinking....

Hood, Hezonja, Fournier.....but that is only because I've heard the rumors. Fact is the guys we hear about only mean they were discussed and the price was too high. We never hear about who we get first.

So if you heard the rumor we might be trading for >>>>>>>>> bet your bottom dollar we aint getting them.

i think hes tradeable, just not right now. maybe in the offseason if the right offer presents itself. im a fan of his though. his contract isnt too bad and when healthy, he is definitely worth the dollars.

someone said since we added blake, we can trade reggie without upsetting drums and thats probably true and thats what would make dealing him a little easier.

That's a fairly accurate statement. Although anything is possible when the right set of circumstances align. :wizard:
