It's a fair deal, but the Knicks killed WHG value....especially if the plan was to eventually move him. If they let him play through his struggles, his value skyrockets.....whether he sits or played and continued to suck, his value is crushed. Someone said this move was because Dolan would be upset with him talking, it's really the only logical explanation.
How did the Knicks kill his value? He got outplayed. He didn't earn his spot. Are we now giving minutes to guys who haven't earned them? What does that do for culture?
Because the Knicks went out of their way to let everyone know they were going young this year.....then he gets buried on the bench. Was he outplayed.....sure, but hardly enough to being sat for good. This is the Knicks fault because they clearly cannot keep up on their current players.....if he regressed so poorly by the time everyone saw him at the beginning of the season, you're telling me no coaches or scouts noticed him eating balls over the summer? They could have moved him last offseason, but they had no inkling of how he was playing or progressing.
The Knicks have almost an entire roster of guys that get minutes who haven't earned them, so I don't even know what kind of argument that is?
