I was not under the impression that Willie was a franchise cornerstone in anyway. But what is the possible value of the street? The second rounders have minimal value and if memory serves that is exactly what we gave up to get Lily in the 1st Pl.,
Patrick o’bryant? Not a clue
I’m sure that’s my ignorance but I doubt very much he’s better than Willy
And less he’s Kobe‘s Irish brother
I just cannot see the value in trading at such a low point
You don’t have to play him, you don’t have to trade in either, you don’t have to do anything as a GM
Better just to wait and see what else presents itself
At the very least he could’ve been a throw In for a larger trade
POB is already gone. And yes that is what we gave up to get Willy, Willy proceeded to prove he was worth way more than that (probably a non lotto first rounder), and then we traded him with 2 more years on his deal for picks we could've brought outright.
I still remember when dudes were on here defending Woody not playing Cope against Indy even though Cope killed that defense while on the floor (so much Indy picked him up) and averaged 9 ppg that season. This is the same ****. Knicks fans will defend anyone picked in the lotto no matter how bad but be a not top 14 pick and they hate you for no reason. Then we gotta overpay for dudes later on when we want role players...
