What do you mean by this Tyrus? That we're trying to do three seperate deals? That our moves are reliant on 3 moves by other teams? etc.

I feel one big cock tease coming.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

We already had our big trade, but people are never satisfied

I think most of us just want something small now just to help the tank out. Like Holiday for a future 2nd or something. The way I see it, if there's a market for Bellinelli, then there should be one for Holiday.

I read it as: if we want Lopez, Grant, and Holiday moved before the deadline it's likely going to be as 3 independent moves.

I would be surprised if we didn’t make at least one multi player deal or a couple separate smaller deals. Something has to give with Tony Allen, Justin Holiday, Jerian Grant, and RoLo

Why? Grant imo helps the tank more than he hurts it

This is crucial. Lopez, in particular, shouldn't play much at all the rest of the season. He serves absolutely no purpose anymore.

I won't say don't play him much at all, but I would drop him down to around 20 minutes a game. Just completely benching a vet that has played well all season would not be a good look at all. He deserves the minutes if we keep him.

Drop Holiday down to 24 minutes. Give Valentine and Nwaba some more playing time. There really no reason for Holiday to be playing 35 minutes a game for a team going nowhere.

KeithBoothfan wrote:It really seems like the league is in an unusual state - pretty much everyone is just penciling a Warriors championship parade into the calendar, with a footnote that maybe it will be held in Houston. So even good teams are being conservative - unless a trade that screams "this gives us a chance against the Warriors!" falls into their laps, they're not doing anything major. And it would take a serious windfall for most teams other than Houston, and then mayyyyybe SA/Boston/Toronto/Cle to think "this trade gives us a shot." So there are almost no trades that make teams incrementally better taking place. Even teams that are pretty good now are looking further down the road, holding off on short-term moves.

So I'm not sure much of anything will happen tomorrow. Between the "what is Cleveland going to do" question and the inertia due to the Warriors/Rockets' long shadow, most of the teams would prefer to augment their flexibility. So there's too many teams looking to clean up their cap outlooks or acquire draft picks and not enough looking to make immediate upgrades.

Frankly, even though I'm miffed we tossed in that 2nd rounder, I'm just relieved we got a 1st for Niko.

Solid post.

Yep, although I guess we could package two in the same deal

Get rid of Grant and play Payne who would help the tank even more, with a very small outside shot that he plays well and ups his value.

I doubt any individual player will net more than a 2nd rounder at this point. The Buĺls will probably have to eat a terrible contract to get even a low level first methinks.

I know it’s drastic, but IMO this is a make or break period for Felicio. He needs to play the rest of the season without fear of being yanked so we can see what we really have.

I wouldn’t bench RoLo completely either, but he needs to be removed from a position where he’s used as a general safety valve.

So unlikely something 'big' is going down then?

No idea, just someone who was actually able to get ahold of someone/a few people told me they aren't feeling optimistic about a trade going down. Hopefully we sell cheap if it comes to it. Only what, 12 more hours?

The 1st rounder for Mirotic is looking better by the day.
