Yes one of the obvious flaws of the system and in reality only increases the national deficit.

Pretty clear neither side really cares - its all just lip service.

Another Nunes conspiracy allegation bits the dust!
This time it's Uranium One!
Instead, William Campbell told a story so incoherent that the DOJ informed Republicans it was worthless. The story was riddled with holes … and completely missing any mention of Clinton. Which annihilates the narrative that Republicans have been trying to sell. A story they were convinced would give them the ammo required to turn Robert Mueller from a special counsel to a subpoenaed witness—if not a indicted conspirator—in Yet Another Hillary Clinton Scheme.

Under another Republican Myth of wrong doing by Obama/Clinton bites the dust!
This FBI TEXT was supposed to latest GOP smear against the integrity of the FBI — but unfortunately for the Party of Law and Order Obstruction, their latest fable was exposed, for the no-evidence fabrication it really was
Text messages exchanged between two FBI employees stating that then-President Obama wanted “to know everything” referred to the bureau's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, not a probe into Hillary Clinton’s email server, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

[...]

Associates of Strzok and Page, who were having an affair at the time, reportedly said the two were talking about Obama wanting information on Russian interference in the 2016 election.

The exchange occurred days before Obama met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and spoke to him about election tampering, The Wall Street Journal reported.

All I can say is that facts don't matter to Conservatives (not Republicans, Conservatives), just listen to conservative talk radio or any call-in program, some idiot will rattle-off the false narrative of the day that they heard on Fox News or Limbaugh.

I know that guys like dckingsfan aren't a fan of this, but like I've been saying this for ever. There's only one party that's demonstrating they're corrupt and willing to throw away the values they claim they stand for just to appease a sociopath. If you want a better government vote Democrat down the ticket. Or this will at least encourage more Republicans with integrity to run for office.

dckings is right though. To think one party is the corrupt, "bad" party and the other one isn't, is foolish pompom waiving.

Both parties are horrifically corrupt and vote against the people's best interests like 80% of the time. Blindly voting for the democrats down ticket without holding them to any standards (which is what you're suggesting) is just dumb.

Hillary called herself a "Reagan Democrat." Why on earth would any real left-leaning person vote for that? :banghead:

dckingsfan brings valuable incite in that both parties waste resources which I totally agree with and the vast majority of his concerns are on the fiscal side. But also the American political system is broken at every level. Gerrymandering and voter suppression to manipulation by the top one % in party financing. The obvious but unlikely choice would be a reconciliation where priorities of the nation can be worked out.

While the Senate has come to a compromise in raising the debt ceiling it has also raised the deficit which added on to the tax reform debacle is spinning the debt out of control. The Tea Party is howling but again for the wrong reasons there addled solution is to slash entitlements rather than sensibly look at reform.

Looks like General Kelly has sold his soul to the Trumpster! The 1st real sign was the indefensible defense of Trump against the Family & Congresswoman of a slain soldier. Since then it has been a drip, drip, drip and he is no better than the cabinet which did a hari kari to there integrity by giving praise to the President.

Then there’s fear. Another recently departed White House aide says: “The only person not terrified of the president is Jim Mattis. Kelly is just hoping not to go down in flames but he knows he will never be ‘one of them,’ and that’s who Trump wants around him.”

It reminds me of the old highlander series there is only ONE!

As we all know statistics can be used to predict almost everything and projections are even more unreliable. The Trump administration continues to push coal as a clean energy resource!   Plus they are making false predictions about renewables.

EIA continues to ignore solar cost data reported by fellow branches of the Department of Energy. The outlook assumes new solar farms will cost nearly double what they actually cost last year, as reported by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. EIA also tends to underestimate how quickly solar costs decline as technologies improve. Together, this leads EIA to project sharp slowdowns in solar installations as tax credits are phased down, and a muted rebound in the following decades.

Offshore wind is virtually nonexistent in EIA’s outlook. That will come as a surprise to Maryland, Massachusetts and Connecticut, which have each already announced contracts or solicitations for hundreds of megawatts of wind turbines off the Atlantic coast. Meanwhile, New Jersey and New York have each committed to thousands of megawatts more over the next decade.

When can we expect some real science based facts from this administration?

Well the obvious answer is to not sit on your butt whining about how corrupt the system is and get out there and run for office. I would rephrase Pointgod's point to say that this strategy only works on the Democrat side right now. Standing up to Trump as a GOP candidate is suicide, standing up against the calcified apparatus that chose Hillary over Bernie and ended up throwing the election to a tinpot dictator is a sign of integrity.

Okay. So Obama was intimately involved in the Russia probe and the accusation that Trump conspired with Russians. He presumably is therefore in the know of various aspects of how the FISA warrant was obtained, who in the Trump campaign was spied on, and who was unmasked and why? Let's just remember that fact as things play out.

George W. Bush: There's clear evidence Russia 'meddled' in 2016 election

Former President George W. Bush said Thursday that there is "pretty clear evidence that the Russians meddled" in the 2016 presidential election, a seeming rebuke of President Donald Trump, who has at times questioned the intelligence community’s assessment that the Kremlin is to blame.

"Whether (Russia) affected the outcome is another question," Bush said at conference in Abu Dhabi, according to a USA Today report. "It’s problematic that a foreign nation is involved in our election system. Our democracy is only as good as people trust the results.”

The president has since conceded that the Russian government was behind the cyberattack but has been decidedly soft in his rhetoric towards the Kremlin, especially relative to his get-tough approach to foreign policy elsewhere around the globe. Trump’s stance on Russia has puzzled U.S. allies and lawmakers from both parties.

Of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who U.S. intelligence agencies have suggested knew of and directed the 2016 cyberattacks, Bush said "He can’t think, ‘how can we both win?’ He only thinks, ‘how do I win, you lose?’”

This is true. I find myself arguing with DC a lot, but there's a fair amount we agree on.
