Cavs are revamping from an old ass team to a fairly young team in attempt to convince LeBron they can keep this going for a few more years. Honestly like what they're doing right now.

Is Gilbert trying to force Lebron to waive his no trade clause by trading away his friends AND getting back young talent in return?

CLE has now assured its future beyond LBJ....and has maybe sent out LBJ in the process. CLE basically just gave LA the cap they need to pull Lebron away this summer.

They now have a much younger, more athletic core and a top 10 pick.

I think that is exactly the opposite.

They do not care about LeBron anymore and they want young players/young veterans to be competitive next season without him. That is why they do not trade that Nets pick.

Trade deadline isn't over, they can still trade the Nets pick if they swap picks.

I think this is their way of convincing him to stay without mortgaging their future. I'd argue that the team got a good bit better in the back court replacing current IT and current Rose with Hill and Clarkson, Hood is a very good fit for them as a 3 pointer shooter, and Nance can basically be what TT used to be for them.

Lebron knows that the majority of that team was at the end of their career, and he wants to play for much longer. If they want to keep Lebron, they needed to convince him that they can continue building a top team around him for the duration of his career. Moving all of their aging and broken players for young players is a good start to convince him.

Thats what i was thinking, gave them the cap space they need, but IDK if Lebron would even really bother wasting his time with the Lakers. I mean Cavs had a better team built around Lebron, so why would he choose the Lakers over that? Because its in LA? Hell, then he would have a better shot at playing with the Clippers because at least they have Jordan and LouWill and Love-lite (Gallo).

Its also funny because they gain a few pieces that make it look like they want to continue to win (Hill & Hood), but also took back younger talent (IDK if we can really consider Clarkson talent, maybe just Nance), which is somewhat indicating that they are setting themselves up for a future without Lebron, but it will be a sad future with the young talent they chose to acquire.

And then Dumping Superfriend #1, i just have no idea what Cleveland is doing. Its like they make a few moves that looks like they are trying to compete, and follow it up with a few moves that make it look like they are actively trying to push Lebron out the door.

Sooooo. to recap

Kings - they save 10m in salary next year with Shumpert in and Hill out and will buyout Joe Johnson -- he will be an intriguing fit for a team

Jazz: they get Crowder for Hood - probably were worried about losing Hood; save some Joe Johnson cash

Lakers: get full cap space for two players

Miami - Wade belongs in Miami - good for him

Cavs: get younger, better defense and still have the NEts pick. So they are better positioned this year in the playoffs and better for next year. Hill, Clarkson, Hood, Nance - all moves that help. They lose Shumpert, Frye, IT, Wade and Crowder, - big effing deal

Nice work Altman...

The Heat have to trade/waive 1 player and the Kings 2 players to create roster spots to complete their trades.

The Cavs going to go all in with trading that pick for DAJ? Anyone else on the trade block the Cavs could use?
