They now have a much younger, more athletic core and a top 10 pick.
Thats what i was thinking, gave them the cap space they need, but IDK if Lebron would even really bother wasting his time with the Lakers. I mean Cavs had a better team built around Lebron, so why would he choose the Lakers over that? Because its in LA? Hell, then he would have a better shot at playing with the Clippers because at least they have Jordan and LouWill and Love-lite (Gallo).
Its also funny because they gain a few pieces that make it look like they want to continue to win (Hill & Hood), but also took back younger talent (IDK if we can really consider Clarkson talent, maybe just Nance), which is somewhat indicating that they are setting themselves up for a future without Lebron, but it will be a sad future with the young talent they chose to acquire.
And then Dumping Superfriend #1, i just have no idea what Cleveland is doing. Its like they make a few moves that looks like they are trying to compete, and follow it up with a few moves that make it look like they are actively trying to push Lebron out the door.
Lakers have room for LBJ and another player without making any more moves. They'll have ~$60+million in cap space. Maybe its George coming over, maybe someone else, but there will be someone else significant coming with him wherever he goes, I think.
