You can’t sign and trade a RFA, right?

We can sign and trade Jabari. However it must be done BEFORE Jabari would ever sign an offer sheet with said team.

Once the offer sheet is signed, Jabari either is staying in MKE if we match or going to the other team under those conditions.

be interesting to see who gets bought out. Bucks could still use a vet backup PG.

Feeling good about not doing anything even though I wanted something to happen for weeks now. An upgrade at C would have been nice, but **** it, let's roll.

So, what's the list of buyout candidates now?

Joe Johnson
Marco Belinelli
Joakim Noah
Derrick Rose

Top four that came to mind. Not sure if there are any other obvious ones.

Apparently there wasn't much interest in Dedmon or Bellinelli, interesting to me to say the least. Dedmon is a prototypical modern NBA center. Teams must be afraid of the kind of money he's going to want

Is Belinelli getting released? I haven't seen anything about that. Wouldn't mind having him in our rotation.

We know based on reports there were lots of teams interested in both, I'd wager teams were afraid at what the Hawks were trying to get for them.

I mean, a 2022 2nd to rent him? Would anyone have minded that?

I don't get it.

So they settled for nothing. So puzzling.

He is under contract for another 2 months. And any team acquiring him wouldn't even have BIRD rights, much less RFA rights. Meaning if you want to resign him he has to be signed within the cap or get a 20% raise.

Seems like a minor reasonable deal for both sides. Orlando gets a 2nd for a guy they didnt want. Phoenix had 4 2018 2nd rounders and litterally the worst pg rotation in the NBA so get to kick the tires on a young guy with some tallent.

Cleveland looks scary again, god dammit. At least none of the other playoff teams made a big move.

Phx has been horrible defensively the last few years. Booker/Payton is a nice contrast of styles. I like it a lot for them.

Apparently so, but you have to wonder if there was salary or something coming back with the offers they did have. I mean Bellinelli was told that he was traded earlier in the week but they hadn't figured out to where yet.

As for Dedmon, they may be hoping he ends up picking up his option next year, so that kind of makes sense. And Ersan had some no trade clause and was able to apparently reject some deals they brought to him

I had the MLE as being less than the 20% raise, but yes that is 100% correct.

I think agent's demands are getting in the way of a lot of deals as well. They would rather their clients played out their contracts in their current settings rather than have their value undermined by a new fit just before FA so they would rather alarm the other team and make them walk away than mess with things. If his agent told teams he was going to demand 12-14M there is almost no reason at all to give up ANY asset for him. Same with DJs agent, etc.
