Wizards should pursue Boogie Cousins in free agency
I had a lot of speculation here but I've decided to get rid of it. I added it all that stuff out because it just isn't worth it.
What I really need to do is someday get my own blog finished and never post here anymore.

Is that even possible cap wise?

Unless Boogie wants to play for the minimum for a year or the MLE.
No way the Wiz get sufficient cap space this summer without moving the entire roster aside from Wall/Beal/Porter

No. Frankly, I'm contemplating locking this thread. How many times do we have to talk in circles about this.

Forget all that speculation.
This is the wrong forum. Some or most people really don't appreciate it when I offer too much information

Been awhile, so I’m rusty with the trade nonsense, but I’ve seen some pretty stuck teams move a lot to get cap. Couldn’t we, for instance, trade Porter to get rid of Gortat and our pick to get rid of Mahimni and have cap? Could not we also sign and trade for Cousins? Just asking. As I said, I’m rusty on this.
PS Can we do a thread for Marc Gasol next?

No need to start a Marc Gasol thread. Iit's outside of the normal and will disturb people.

Re: Wizards should pursue Boogie Cousins in free agency
Today I saw a chocolate City Jordan Air appreciation thread from 2009 when I was right about DeJuan Blair. That thread was locked by the moderator back in 2010Chocolate City Jordanaire wrote:I had a lot of speculation here but I've decided to get rid of it. I saw another thread from 2017 and 2018 about 1 Boogie cousins. At that time he had blown up into all star status and was not yet injured and a shell of himself. I was right about him and he is still trying to get on with the good teams I think he just worked out for Milwaukee
Today I learned one of my best friends in the world lost his mother and his sister to covid and I haven't even called my buddy Freddy yet
As I post I am squinting because I have lost my bifocals which I bought less than 2 months ago and I also lost another phone as I'm getting a little bit more absent-minded I don't think it's dementia
I am searching for this freaking thread that I started about Kirk Cousins and Boogie cousins at the same time and I was right about both of those dudes but I can't even dig the thread up with this search engine
I'm going to bump this just for the heck of it

Re: Wizards should pursue Boogie Cousins in free agency
FWIW, if we had followed this advice and signed Cousins, it would have been a complete waste of money. The Lakers signed Cousins for $3.5M and he promptly injured his quad and missed the entire season.
The next year, the Rockets signed him for the vet minimum. He played 25 games with them, posting a miserable ORtg of 102 on high usage and was then waived.
The Clippers signed him off waivers. He played 207 regular season minutes for them and posted a -10.7 on/off differential. He played 58 playoff minutes and posted a -21.7 on/off differential.

Bucks have signed him to a non-guaranteed contract. Hopefully, he'll get a ring this year! Bucks were thin depth-wise up front (especially with Lopez out), so he should get some PT.

I always liked him. Reminded me of Rasheed Wallace. A jerk on the court, but a thoughtful interesting man in real life.
He's not coming here, but he could have helped in one area. We're not running and getting transition baskets, for several reasons. One is that we don't have our previous one-man fast breaks, Wall or Westbrook. Two is that we don't have a good outlet passer. Gafford and Harrell have all they can do to get the rebound. Rebounding and quickly pivoting for the outlet pass isn't happening. Cousins could fill that role.

This is a guarantee that Milwaukee will not repeat because Boogie has the opposite of Javale McGee luckRuzious wrote:Bucks have signed him to a non-guaranteed contract. Hopefully, he'll get a ring this year! Bucks were thin depth-wise up front (especially with Lopez out), so he should get some PT.

Same with Captain Jack Steven Jackson the type of guy that's going to be throwing blows with you if he's on your team and you're in a fight ....you want that jerk on your teambsilver wrote:I always liked him.
