George Hill, Larry Nance and Rodney ****ing Hood are scary players now

Hill has the highest 3 point shooting % in the NBA
Hood is shooting 39% from 3

Hill can defend Lowry A LOT better than IT ever could.

Game becomes simpler for Cavs, Lebron will go ham and draw attention from multiple defenders. He then kicks it out to an open 3 point shooter.

It won't take them long to gel on offence at all.

These guys are all good/solid role players. Not disputing that.

But scary? No.

What? Are you talking about the playoff series where Lowry had that monstrosity sticking out of his shooting elbow?

We still have 6 all stars
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

To be honest, I was a lot more scared of a fully healthy with something to prove IT and playoff version of DWade than George Hill, Larry Nance and Rodney Hood. Those three do not make up the loss of Kyrie which is the Cavs biggest problem. They still need a second alpha (Love is not it) to help LeBron.

5 on 8
for the Cavs this is great!
5 on 8
We will follow the NBA and take the bait
5 on 8
The NBA's view of no market teams like Toronto and small market teams like New Orleans, Orlando and Utah is hate, hate, hate
5 on 8
For the flavours of the month like the Cavs and the Warriors it is a victorious fate
5 on 8
Oh NBA, why Toronto do you so berate?!
Holy Moses! Take a look! Flesh decayed in every nook! Some rare bits of brain lie here, Mortal loads of beef and beer. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanda_McKittrick_Ros

The trade helps in a lot of ways. Seriously, watch the Cavs last 20 or so games and you'll understand that. We looked like a 1st round exit team.

Does it give us a good shot at GS? Absolutely not. But that's not the point. The only teams that have a shot against GS are in the West.

The Cavs roster was DEAD. Now it has been completely overhauled and the floor raised, WHILE retaining the Nets pick, which could potentially be unloaded during the offseason to acquire a 2nd alpha and help convince LeBron to stay.

It was a good deadline for the Cavs - doesn't mean they'll win the East, just means they have improved their chances.

Lebron will turn these players into world beaters, they were good on crap teams. Teamed up with the best play maker in NBA history they will be lights out.

Not scared until they can prove they are scary. Right now, minus James, they are anything but...

Without him, and with love getting back on the court right for the start of the playoffs, means cavs will have nearly no front court shooting. Thats always been an issue for this team. This does, imo, make JV an even bigger threat to them, since he wont be as compelled to come out to the perimeter to try and guard one of love or frye.

Raptors likely bode better with how we played when we had Biyombo, where one C is always deep in the post manning the paint while the rest switch and guard the perimeter.

They've definitely gotten more shooting and D in the backcourt, but there are only so many minutes. And i think a guy like Powell can be better utilized defensively now when we face them.

Good thing is that we have two more games against them near the end of this season, so Raps will have a good look at them after they've had a few games to settle in and acclimate. Shoukd allow for better team planning against them for the playoffs.

They started Love at centre all year. I don't think they roll out the lineup that you think. IMO they will play;

Love/LBJ/Hood/JR/Hill to start most of the time as long as they get Love back in time. This lineup doesn't makes him a threat as much as it makes him a problem, because yeah he has to guard either Love or James on the perimeter.

We could really punish that tandem in the paint offensively, except we're not really big on exploiting post matchups...and if Ibaka actually had an inclination to work in the post.

Instead, we'd see Love guarding Jonas and Jonas getting a touch here and there. And Lebron guarding Ibaka at the 3 point line.

If that was the problem, we would see JV at the 5 and Ibaka on the bench. But that won't be the problem and Ibaka would be at the 5.

So

Hill
Hood
LeBron
Love
TT

That actually sounds intimidating...not sure how they can get some chemistry going with so little season left.

So is Jose still on Cavs?

There's a bigger sample size then the playoffs. Actually going into that series we were worried about that matchup because Hill has historically played him tough.

And you can't blame his elbow for him sucking it's all mental with him. Bad elbows don't make you have horrible shot selection or blow defensive assignments

Always scared of Lebron but Gilbert just proved he is walking from Lebron unless he thinks trading the whole team is a retention strategy and no way is Gilbert that dumb.
