I wouldn't put money on the Raptors, but i do think that this is the best version of their recent teams.

The Cavs 2nd unit, without LBJ on the floor, should just try to run at every opportunity. I like it.

Can someone explain to me why the Cavs had to give the Lakers a 1st round pick? that makes zero sense?

It just seems like they get fleeced on every damn trade. Just weird. I would have loved that deal for them if they kept that pick which they should have.

Cavs deals looks like just getting new guys in there of similar value, plus if those guys arent hitting shots they arent really useful, bucks in 6 in the ECF

My guess is because the Lakers knew the Cavs hand. They knew the Cavs HAD to make this move or any chance of keeping LeBron would be gone. Therefore they demanded more. It was a great trade for the Lakers.

Donovan Mitchell has completely taken his role for the future and he is a RFA after this season. Crowder lost his mom this offseason and was pretty awful initially but has been better of late and was never a good fit in Cle. That is still a GREAT contract, even if Cle never figured out how to use him. And Rose got waived already. Might be out of the league.

Let's just take a second to remember that our esteemed former head coach wanted to sign him in the offseason.

There were quite a few posters here that thought we could get rose for a steal at 15 million a year or so.

I don't think it particularly matters. It's going to be what - 26th at worst? Let's be real probably 29th.
The statistical difference between picking that low and picking in the second, in terms of finding productive players, is pretty much negligible.

They can buy into the second round if they love someone (their second is going to Philly or Charlotte), and they have the Nets pick anyway - top ten, maybe top five, maybe first!

I think their pick is going to end up 22-25 at worst. It's going to take them time to gel and their record atm is 31-22.

Thsi draft is incredibly deep, impact players can be had at that range that are not usually there on different drafts.

I don't think they can buy a 2nd because they maxed it out when they bought Felder and it only resets after the draft.

The Lakers were more desperate to make that deal than the Cavs. Cavs could have just told them they found other suitors. The Ball was in their hand, not the Lakers.

I dunno where else to put this but Will Clyburn of CSKA Moscow is really good. Turns 28 this summer but he'll be a five or six year rotation wing if he decides to come over. Bucks DNA type guy.

Rodney Hood could easily have a far better career than Jabari. He certainly has so far.

Just sayin.

He was doing all right in the Euroleague with Panathinaikos... probably that's where he belongs.

And I wouldn't be surprised if they stagger Hill & Bron by subbing in Korver early so that Clarkson isn't responsible for point guard duties too much.
Im thinking the Cavs lineup will look like this

Hill / Clarkson / Calderon
JR / Hood / Korver
LBJ / Cedi
Love / Nance / Green
TT / (will sign someone) / Zizic

Papagiannis and Papa-Papagiannis also need to publicly apologize to Dragan Bender.

I don't think even the Cavs have a clue what their lineup will be after a few games given there will have to be lots of trial and error to gauge how groups of them play together best, especially in crunch time when so many games are win or lost.

Really like that Suns picked up Payton, great signing, they were desperate for a PG, but he may actually work well with Booker.

Joining the group that says these Cavs are a championship team, not even sure they're winning the East anymore.

True, true. And Tony Snell could have a better career than both of them. That's not the point. The point is, you wouldn't have had to trade Jabari to get Rodney Hood.
