I'm not so worried. They have the next 25-30 games to basically integrate half the roster into well-defined meaningful roles that can play a completely new style with LeBron. Then, by the time the playoffs roll around, they'll have to integrate Kevin Love, for whom they've already had problems re-defining a role for. And on top of all that, Frye took a bit of pressure off Love when on the court b/c he was their only other big who could hit the 3-shot with any reliability. But he's gone, so more defensive focus will be placed on Love as a result.

Plus, Love will still be their 2nd most important scorer, so when he comes back, from a hand-injury to boot, he'll have to take shots away from other guys like Hood and Hill, and acclimate to them and the new style.

We've seen it take about 30-35 games for OKC to acclimate to George & Melo. Similarly, we were in the situation Cleveland is now, with Lowry out and the influx of two defensive guys like Ibaka and Tucker. We saw how the lineup was shaky enough to cause issues when Lowry came back, and even earlish into this season we were still figuring out how to play everyone to their strengths.

With the East even stronger now, Cavs might end up continuing to drop in the standings, and may even lose homecourt throughout the playoffs. And if that's the case,, they'll have tough matchups against East playoff teams.

I think with Frye out, JV won't need to move out to the perimeter anymore to guard Frye while Ibaka guards Love. Should allow him to drop back deep into the post and save his energy for offense, in which case they'll likely throw Perkins at him for all 6 fouls.

If they choke again this is first round exit team. East too good this year to play around

Demar will go back to jacking up 20 mid range contested jump shots a game, Lowry will go into his shell, Casey will go away from the young effective bench in favour of the veterans, and LeBron will still be the greatest player of all time.

I think everyone deep down knows how this is still going to go. They always have.

LOL @ people acting like the Cavs have some intricate system. I'm sure there will be a learning period, but it always boils down to LeBron orchestrating everything. If they are capable shooters and willing to defend they will be fine.

I like the additions of Hill and Nance. Surprised the Lakers sold on Nance - he's a solid player.

They're definitely improved, and more importantly this may put their obvious locker room problems in the rear view mirror. But it's also a younger team with fewer options on offense. Not the kind of team you want to take into battle against the Warriors or
Rockets, or even the Raptors.
Nick Nurse recounting his first meeting with Kawhi:
“We could have gone forever. (Raptors management) kept knocking on the door and I was like, ‘A couple more minutes.’ Because we were really into it."

I just realized the low seed team Im afraid of is the Pistons. If Griffin and Drummond pick and roll Ibaka and JV endlessly, it has to be our worst combination I would think.

We'd still be lucky to win 2 or 3 games against them in a series

I know this is not the end of the Cavs moves. They will end up getting a solid vet or two from the buyout.

I can't stand the buyout game in the NBA....they have to change it

This is the year that the Cavs are most vulnerable and if the raps can't compete against their team than we are just not that good .

They're not going to play a good enough team to get tested like that in the 1st round. They'll be able to win semi-consistently with what they have no and stay in 3rd-4th, and beat down whomever they're facing even if it's in 6. By the time we run into them - 2nd round or ECF - they'll have run enough practices and played enough as a team that they won't have that issue. Last year they didn't have homecourt in the ECF and humiliated Boston. They lost Kyrie so that's not happening as easily, but let's not kid ourselves. The reason the Cavs were a disaster so far is that their guard rotation was beyond garbage - Rose and IT were playing at a G-League level, Shump is done as an NBA player, and Wade was barely holding down the fort.

Well this will be the 1st time with home court advantage so maybe a game 7 win. That would be epic. :)

will it though? i mean is it possible that masai and the coaching staff could actually not be aware what a mistake this would be? I know i'm afraid it will happen, but if it actually does it will be mind-boggling.

Yes they do, thats what Hill was brought in for, also Calderon who had played well for them in december on their hot streak before IT started playing.

Any team with LeBron James on it you should be worried. And your kidding yourself if you think the Raptors will be getting calls over LeBron in the playoffs.
