The NBA really needs a system where they send garbage teams to the G-League and make them earn their way back to the NBA. They wasted a LOTTERY pick on this dude a year and a half ago. A guy who was a known project. Kings are the worst.

I'd take a flyer on him. The question is, who gets cut? Cunningham, Acy, Stauskas?

We need to take flyers on athletes and shooters. Hard pass on another plodding big man.

Joe Harris and Dinwiddie were released. Guys like Webb are out there.

Nets - In Season Moves & Possible Trade Ideas

Post#1909 » by Paradise » Thu Feb 8, 2018 11:19 pm

Just got in from work. I’m not going to lie I had to keep a straight face at some of these notifications I was getting.

So glad we didn’t make a major move just for the sake of it because I think we would’ve made a bad deal. Also excited to add Cunningham because we’ve been in need of a true stretch 4.

Cunningham has been arguably the most consistent Pelican since forever and Cunningham can now slide in and add more toughness and scrappy D.

Shot a career high at 39% from 3 last season and I’d expect nothing less here. Seems like we could opt to re-sign him over Acy in the summer too.

id be surprised if he shot 39% here... his volume on 3s is sure to go up .... this year he is at 32%, and 2 years ago 31% and prior to that he didnt shoot threes.

cant seem him matching an outlier career high with increased volume but who knows it will be a small sample so it could go either way.

He'll be a decent vet to have. I wouldn't expect much more. The team made the right decision today. We need depth at PF.

The idea seems to be holding onto these guys to build more value. We can possibly flip a lot these like DMC, Joey at the next deadline. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are already trying to position themselves to tank for Reddish and RJ Barrett.

I was really intrigued at the prospect of Tyler Johnson and Justice Winslow, but with Crabbe already signed it wouldn't have been smart. I haven't followed Winslow much in his career, but from what I can tell, he's been awful in the NBA. What's been his deal to anyone who follows Miami? Didn't Ainge offer like 9 draft picks to get him from the Heat originally? See a guy like that might possibly still be able to rebuild himself in the league and the Nets would be the place to do it, but we can't be taking Johnson's money too.

his 3 point shot. But most of that is b/c of Miami's spacing and their offense. They also play wit one of the slowest paces in the NBA. Well his strength is driving and penetrating. His motor is constantly slowed down and that ends up messing wit how you play.

we got too many tweener PFs..nobody taller than 6'8. Don't the Nets realize we're being outrebounded and giving up to many layups cuz we're out-sized in the PF against every other team in the NBA? Trading Trevor Booker was a mistake, esp for okafor who's playing like he's the one that's 6'8. Booker he played above his size..we would have been better off with Booker and Zeller as our bigs off the bench. Both are better at the PnR than Okafor too.

I hope Lebron leaves Cavs..so they go on a firesale and we trade for K-Love who's the perfect stretch 4 for this system.

I still lowkey wished we could flip Harris/DMC for maybe a 1st but seeing the moves being made today it’s likely we were only getting offered 2nd rounders.

Considering the NBA cap landscape, it’s very conceivable we bring back Harris at a fair deal in the summer. I wouldn’t count on it but it feels likely from what Kenny and Joe have said.

Getting DC + 2nd rounder + 1.9 trade exception is a solid piece of business. Nothing flashy but Marks continues to make small smart moves that in the long-term add up.

In my view Allen is the highest potential out of the bunch. After that our 2nd tier core is RHJ/Levert and finally 3rd tier core Russell/Crabbe/Dinwiddie.

Dinwiddie/Russell/Levert/RHJ/Allen is a solid young core but Marks knows we need a lot more to be a consistent 50 win team and constant contender in the NBA. Next season we have DMC/Lin expiring to make moves, our core a year older and wiser and hopefully some improvement from Crabbe.

Marks is really improving the future prospects of this team infinitely faster than I ever imagined possible. I think some people forget how deep in the pit we were during Billy King’s reign.

I can’t wait to look back on these wonderful trades when I’m 32.

Teams were really trading 2nd round picks that we won’t see until after the Trump administration.

yeah if the Nets plan to tank in 2019 i'm done. whats the point of watching this team if this is even remotely in their plans? how many years of being trash should we have to be.

if this is the strategy, and all of this is a waste of time.
