That’s what I’m sayin...better be late word we did something with Marco.
Shelvin Mack and Okaro White...woohoo..the highlight factory is back...
I’m sorry but when you’re in last place and you have 3 or 4 vets you gotta move them.

Still, the Hawks may not have realistically received an offer that did not involve taking back bad salary and, if so, it makes sense to simply hold on through the deadline with an eye toward a buyout.

Marco I get. We'll buy him out. Ersan I think we'll keep. But what about Dedmon? Can we even realistically buy him out with him having a PO for next year? Friggin dumb ass Wizards should have been falling all over themselves to get Dedmon.

Yep. Not trading Dedmon is the biggest shocker cause he was the most attractive trade candidate.
I'd keep Ilyasova and Dedmon through the season as they could play roles here in the future.
(If we draft D Ayton, Ilyasova seems like the best veteran front court mate to play next to him. Dedmon is the 2nd best veteran front court mate.)

Schlenk said he couldn’t find a trade that would allow the Hawks to maintain their financial flexibility. The team was seeking draft picks or promising young players on the trade market.
“We think (salary) cap space will be very valuable this summer, especially based on the way the deadline went,” he said. “It’s more important to maintain cap space next summer.”
The Hawks are projected to be one of a few NBA teams to have significant salary cap space next summer. They can use that space to absorb salaries in trades from teams looking to shed money.

Damien Lillard trade is something to look into especially in the off-season. Trade Dennis and some.

Belinelli I won't be shocked if he goes back to Golden State.
Ilyasova must love him some Atlanta..lol
I do like him but I wish the circumstances would be better and not rebuild mode.

Ilyasova got too attached to the gentleman's clubs in Atlanta from the looks of it.

IF T Schlenk likes dealing, this offseason should be fun for him. He has 3 firsts and a top second. He also has a few future acquired draft assets. Then there are some vets that might not be seen as fitting in with the rebuild like, Baze, Plumlee,...Schro?
Could he make a big draft move? Picks for picks or say Baze or Schro paired with a pick to move up?
Then after the draft, he has FAcy to play with. I hope he does a bit better than last summer at either bringing in a potential core piece or deadline trade assets. He also has the cap space to add salary and grab another first as he did last summer.
All said and done, this offseason should be full of moving parts and rebuilding moves.
Looks like one more year of tanking followed by the rise of the new core. TS is going to get real busy about draft time.
Hawks will have 9 returning players (I see Moose back and Dedmon bolting) plus four possible picks. A lot of moves to be made before next season's roster is settled.
