He's basically the black Mario Hezonja.

But seriously, I have [Lonnie Walker] as the highest upside SG prospect in the draft this year.

I'd take the risk and be patient...because the draft system is broken and this could be the only legit shot to grab him.

You're talking with the HOU pick? I'd still be hesitant. Did I ever tell you about that one game against GT?

I still think we're gonna end up trading those late 1sts to either move up or in acquiring Lillard or Wall ( :eek2: I jus' threw up a little) or Klay or some other star(ish) guy.

This conversation is going off the rails...

I'm talking about grabbing LWIV outside of the lottery.

But, wait, do we think Lillard is gonna be available for late first rounders?

Can Wall even be traded anytime soon since he signed that magic extension last year?

I think Wall can be traded in the offseason..

NBA needs to change. Needs parity big-time. With more parity there would be less desire to tank. Almost a third of the NBA is in tank mode this season. One or two super-teams are basically guaranteed to win it every year...maybe one or two more with any chance.

In present system, the best players are eventually gravitating to the best teams. The best players don't want to play against each other, but with each other.... All teams should have a good chance to develop and keep their best players and having said best players walk needs to end. These best players leaving is killing small market teams chances of ever becoming highly competitive; even when they invest in long rebuilds.

Maybe now that we have a minor league syetem developping, maybe the NBA needs relegation. The worst nba team is demoted to G-league while the best g-league team moves up to the NBA and gets the first pick.

Does the departure of Payton from Orlando guarantee Trae (or Luka) will be their selection?

Anyone get a chance to watch Ayton last night? How did he look?

Luka Doncic is incredibly talented...

But he is so slow. I can't quite figure out what to make of him.

Kevin O'Connor and Jonathan Tjarks think he can improve drastically in terms of athleticism with NBA strength and conditioning training. They compared him to Larry Bird.

Michael Porter hopes to return to Mizzou's lineup in advance of the SEC tournament, and says that he doesn't have any concerns about his back moving forward.

A strong SEC tournament showing could push Porter into the top 3 of the draft, if he proves that he's fully healthy.

This is a lost cause. This is the same back surgery that Marvin had in 2011

@atlbbq, I think Porter and Ayton will be the best from this draft.

When Marvin had surgery he came back with the same middling athleticism he had before it. IOW, I don't think it was the surgery, per se.

I'm not overly concerned.

Don’t badmouth Luka he’s a star...he’s not slow he’s methodical there’s a difference.

Having said that I’m starting to fall in love with Porter all over again...if the back thing isn’t detrimental long term. He’s smooth as silk.

I’d be happy with Luka, Ayton, Porter, Bagley, Mikal Bridges or Trae Young.

if he’s that slow, than he must be incredibly good in everything else. ;) because 18 points avg. in Euroleague in only 26 minutes is incredible for Europe. He’s second scorer behind Shved, who’s playing 6 minutes more. athletic Hezonja was averaging 7 points, being 1 year older. Porzingis 11 in lower league. Bogdan Bogdanovic 14 points, being 24 years old, Doncic is 18 years old. watching game against Oly, you have to know at least 3 things. This was his 60th game of the season, he’s visible tired, that’s was the reason for missing Fts in Q4 too. Look at how he looked in Eurobasket and you will see a big difference. 60 games against professionals is incredible big loud for 18 years old player. It’s not only games, but all traveling around Europe, which comes with that. This is second year, with that many games in Euroleague and coaches didn’t adapt yet. They trained too much in free days. Not like in Nba, where they train much less during the season. Second, Oly is one of the best defending team in Euroleague. In this seasons nobody except Doncic made more than 26 point against them. Doncic made 33 points in first game and 27 points in second. And maybe the most important, you have to understand the rules in Euroleague. First step without ball touching the floor is traveling in Europe, traveling called all the time, not like in Nba where we can see 3,4 steps regularly and second big difference is nonexistent 3 seconds in the paint for defensive players. Meaning that in Nba you have open line to the basket in Europe 7 footer is waiting for you near the rim.

Yes he’s not the quickest, and will never be, but he’s 6’8.5”, 230 with visible baby fat. He’s to heavy for his muscles at the moment, but with his big frame he can look intimidating big with proper training in some years. How many 6’8.5”, 240 players, who can handle the ball like him, have great vision, bball Iq and are good shooters are in the league? I’m 100% sure they will change his baby fat with muscles in Nba in no time. In Europe they just don’t put that much emphasis on body than in Nba.

I agree and i'm also concern about Luka being slow, but on the other hand, Klay, Curry, Harden, Nash, Stockton, Bird, Peja are also not super athletes with Iverson quickness.

Speed helps, but elite ball handling can make a player more elusive then speed. Curry and Nash demonstrates that very well.

I think Luka has a shot at being a rich man's Hedo Turkoglu when Turk was playing point forward for the Magic.

Turkoglu avg. 13 points and 2.7 assists in Europe. Playing much more and being 21 years old. Doncic’s avg. is 18 points, 4.5 assists. Doncic is for sure much better passer. I would say Turkoglu can be his floor in Nba, but not ceiling.

Turkoglu in today’s game can be a perennial 20-5-5 guy. Kirilenko is another.
