Isaiah Thomas to the Pistons???

Post#1 » by Shooter1 » Fri Feb 9, 2018 7:46 pm

Looks like Isaiah agent is fighting with Magic that he wont come off the bench. Rumors of a buyout maybe in the works. Would he work for the rest of the season?

Terrible defense (worst in the league by far), huge ego and he's been bad since he came back from his injury. He is the last thing we need.

You need an entire team built around him for it to have a chance of working, and we are not built for a player like him. We're better with the ball in Blake's hands.

NO THANK YOU! I feel like he would instantly ruin the chemistry of the team.

Stan wanted him right before he signed with the Suns a few years back. That being said, with Ish on the roster, I wouldn’t see IT getting starter minutes anyway

If he expects to lead a team it's hard to think of a destination that makes sense for him.

I feel bad because I don't see another option to utilize him the way Brad Stevens did and it seems no matter where he goes he'll be disappointed.

Even if Detroit wanted him they don't have an open roster spot.
Even if Detroit wanted him & were willing to waive somebody, they don't have enough $ to spend while staying under the tax.

If he's bought out, I hope he doesn't go to Indiana.

He isn't worth it, his defense sucks and was playing like Josh Smith for the Cavs.

It's crazy how far his stock has dropped. Sure some of the signs were there, but idk if anyone thought it would be this bad.

Isaiah needs to accept that fact that he is no longer a starter in this league unless a team doesn't have a starting pg, and said team does not want to make playoffs, i.e. tank. Go lead a tank elsewhere little man!

The real problem is that we couldn't sign him after the season. It's not like he's going to take an MLE deal. Other than that, we're a great destination for a scoring pg. Our current wing players aren't ball dominant and we're got bigs that any pg would dream of playing with.

But the hate on IT is just out of control. It's not like he had 1 good season. He's been a legit scoring pg in the league for years now. After his first 2 seasons, he's been putting up a very consistent 20 ppg. I fully expect for him to get back to that level. He's probably never going to be an mvp candidate again, but he's clearly a starting pg in the NBA.

I don't think it hate for him as much as people realize he wants a bigger role than he should have and something has to give.

His ego appears to interfere with his potential opportunities.

It wouldn't shock me if the best he can do is a 1 year MLE this summer.

KCP was SCREWED last summer until the Lakers bailed him out to do Rich Paul a solid. Lou Williams is having a borderline all star year and locked into below MLE deal for the next 3 years. There's very little money out there this summer.

He should shut it down for this year, get 100% healthy, sign a 1 year prove it deal next year in the best situation he can find.

i feel bad for the guy. i really dont see a huge market for him anymore. he wants his own team but he needs the right system and roster build around him and he wants the biggest pay day he can get while not getting along with anyone or having even a decent season.

No interest. Blake has basically become the point forward here. Ball dominant point guard would cause friction. Not sure how it's going to work out when RJ gets back.

If signed IT as a starting PG the following things would happen since Thomas needs 20 shots a game to be functional.

1) Blake would be turned into an Iso/Stretch 4. Not what we want from a $30M a year guy.
2) Stanley Johnson will go back int his shell and put 3 points a game on 1-10 shooting (all bad corner threes)
3) Reggie Jackson would be pissed when he comes back
4) A Reggie / IT back court would be hilariously bad on D.
5) Andre would lose interest since he wouldn't get the ball anymore
6) We would have a revolving door of defense at the PG spot

If we didn't have a ball dominant #1 option here, I would be tempted.

I vote no. He is the perfect second unit microwave guy who can ball hog all he wants. As a starter, I don't think it works.

At this rate I’d rather have Isiah Thomas than Isaiah Thomas.

Nooo...please keep him away from Detroit. I feel bad for him after everything he's been through but he wants to start and sucks badly right now.
