Brandan Wright wasn't even on my radar, but he's long and athletic and I remember him randomly giving the Rockets difficulty. I like this. Thoughts?

Not sure what to think. Haven't followed him lately, but if we're to get him, at the expense of whose roster spot? Plus, is Wright more of a priority than Joe Johnson?

Pretty sure they'd release Tarik Black. Wright gives us length and height that Tarik doesn't have. He also averaged a block per game for his career in just 16 minutes. MDA clearly doesn't trust Tarik, so I think this could bolster our bench for games that Nene sits.

50% C

it's probably Onuaku or Troy Williams
they have the least guaranteed money
anyway we still have one roster spot

Didn't we try to land him a few years back when we was with Boston?

Or maybe it was just some fans hoping we'd get him I am remembering...damn you old age and short memory induced by vodka and...things.

Anyways, if he can run the floor, throw down some lobs and protect the rim that seems like a good fit addition coming off the bench.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

And there you go. I think it'll be nice to have another lob target at C besides Clint. Being able to run the pick and roll (+ lob) with either Harden/CP3 and Clint/Wright throughout the game is something we haven't had the luxury of. The pick and roll opens up so much space for our shooters.

OH HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

https://www.boxscoregeeks.com/players/203-brandan-wright
https://www.boxscoregeeks.com/teams/hou?direction=asc&sort=position

We now have THREE really good C's, with one being basically a superstar, one being really, really effective, one being able to score and muscle up, and a fourth that's actually really good but not getting any burn for whatever reason.

Sorry Tarik, but Brandan is better and coach trusts Nene more. You're still great, but HOT DAMN WE GOT BRANDAN WRIGHT AHAHHAHHHAHAHAHAHHAH LOOK OUT GOLDEN STATE

To put this signing in perspective, it's basically when Golden State got JaVale McGee for free a few years ago, except WAY better.

Wright is a little subpar on rebounding, but hits all his shots and blocks a ton of shots and never turns the ball over.

Plus, if 35 year old Nene ever gets injured again (not unlikely), we still have TWO quality backups instead of one who's usually quality, but can be overmatched, and we usually don't even play him and just run Ryan Anderson more minutes against people who tend to abuse him a bit.

Plus, Wright is better than Nene anyway.

nevermind
Black is on one year contract
if Rockets need another roster spot and want to save the most money
he is the cheapest one to waive

Wright is good. He allows them to play the same way they do with Capela as a lob threat and he's a good offensive rebounder. Black is probably gone. No need for four veteran centers. Waiving Black (which makes me sad, I love Tarik) gives them two empty roster spots

Yeah, I've been pretty disappointed that Black hasn't gotten more burn this year. I remember him having some really good games for us back in 14-15.

Speaking of 14-15, wtf happened to D-Mo??

Tarik is on a one-year deal, so he will most likely get the axe instead of Onuaku.

Joe Johnson just committed to signing with us too, so this probably means that Bobby Brown won’t return.
