I give you credit SOUL. As Elfrid's #1 fan, I thought we might have to send out the search patrol to help look for your remains.

You've been stable as an ox. Good on you.

When they trade AG this offseason, I'm going shopping for a black trenchcoat.

Shout out to SOUL tho for hooking up Phoenix fans with that super sweet Elfrid Payton starter pack. What a nice guy.

I’m reading mixed things, and that this is the last year the pick would have conveyed and it was top 8 protected

it would be a top-8 protected pick from Philly this year. Looking like there is a chance it would have come this year. otherwise if it is a top-8 pick, then it would be 2nds

That said, it had to be done.

I gotta stand by what I preach. Been saying that we need to get rid of Elfrid, Evan and Vuc even if it meant getting nothing back except expirings and/or picks. Taking 1 step back to take 2 steps forward. Well, this day wasn't a total failure since we got rid of 1 of the 3.

I'm especially happy that the Suns got him. Why?

1) I feel like we will certainly be picking higher than them now.
2) I feel like they would actually pass on Trae Young even if they did have a higher pick.
3) Suns fans used to tell me how terrible Elfrid was whenever I tried to convince them to take him in a trade.

LET'S GO TRAE! PRAY FOR TRAE!

I don't have much if any problem with you post. Only I don't think I would say we got minimum in return. I think if we had actually been offered more we would have taken it. I think better is an invention by this board and may not have ever even been there. I think it was fare return. Not great but not minimum either. Also I don't think Payton makes the Suns much better. He didn't make us much better and Phoenix is in a pretty similar position. Plus he may or not start as they have been using Booker at the point lately and that has worked well for them. So we shall see as I am not making any guarantees. Also I think Phoenix could still take a guy like Young if they wanted to. Payton is no sure fire starter for them going forward just as he wasn't here. Of course they may not but only time will tell.

Even so, it was only going to be a first rounder for Philly before this year which is the genius of the trade for Hinkie. Just saying people were under the assumption that it was a first rounder for us prior when for 4 years it wasn't.

We're also losing Hezonja for nothing this off-season. Is Hennigan still in charge?? Otis Smith???

It could be like death comes in threes. Oladipo comes to form in Indy. If Payton were to standout in PHX, that would make two. If Hezonja were to show out, then it would say a lot about the Magic and their front office. And we already criticize the front office enough as is.

In terms of Payton, I don't see him amount to much of a backup in today's NBA. As for Hezonja, not a fan of his. I wish the Magic did trade him off for someone worth taking a chance on. Other than that, let the good times roll.

I doubt we could have gotten anything for Mario. Ep got us only 1 2nd rounder. What more Mario who you’ll have no bird rights and have limited money to offer.

We’re already witnessing this x2

From OQuinn to Harkless to Dedmon breaking out the second they signed with other teams.

Then you have Harris and Oladipo having career years, it only makes sense to see Elfrid/Hezonja ball out on another team next season.

Well posters used to laughed when I made comparison's of Oladipo to Wade. I also compared Payton to Kidd, that's pretty funny.

who or what? 45# pick in 2018? Because that type of guys always have lot of potential, scouts are saying that there is not even 20 nba players in first round ,let alone second this year.
Hezonja is young , finally gets chance to prove himself and pretty much delivers on game to game bases, and it's not like he is just chucking , but shoots with high efficiency even when his 3 ball is off from time to time.

Last I heard Triano was going to play, if not start Payton tonight. Might have to fire up the league pass menu and watch a bit of another game Orlando isn't playing in.

And1.

KOQ is decent at this point in his career. Harkless has to better his mental senses in order for his skills to be recognized on the floor. Until it happens, he’s just another Stromile Swift in the making. Just another guy with potential, but the mentality for the game is not there.

Hezonja inspite of some improvements is hard to be encouraged by me. I realize he like the others have been through multiple coaches in their first few years. It doesn’t help at all when that happens during a player’s early years. Not his fault. It’s on the front office. If Hezonja does get better as his career goes on, I’ll get on board. Right now, I’m not all convinced yet.

The thing that bothers me is that I suspect Elfrid was feeling the effect of his early season hamstring injury. Like he came back a bit early and it has been giving him trouble, or something. This seems to have been the worst stretch of his career.
Remember when Kobe elbowed Jameer in the chin so hard Jameer was knocked down and sent skidding across the floor?
