What phones do you guys have?
There are 2 I specifically have my eyes on, but I'd rather hear everyone's thoughts without prior name drops.

Also, what carriers do you guys have? I'm currently on T-Mobile but thinking about switching to Verizon. T-Mobile has been good to me, but it's not so much cheaper for a single line and even though I feel like T-Mobile is flatout faster than Verizon for data speeds in a lot of the major cities, going to places like Vermont, Mass, Virginia, some parts of PA and even parts of NJ, sometimes you're in a 10 mile blackhole of nothing where you F'ed even using navigation if you didn't start it and leave it on while in service, let alone call and regular data.
T-Mobile.

Note 3...still going strong.

I'm either switching to Verizon or staying with T-mobile. There's a lot of phones I like, but idk if there's any I out and out love.

I love the idea of the Pixel 2, but no headphone jack bums me out. Also the battery is really small for a phone of this caliber, though it has that quick charge thing going for it where it charges to like 40% in 15 minutes. Lastly, it has some seriously thick bezels for a new flagship phone. I do love the vanilla Android with instant updates, the camera is supposed to be pretty much the best of any current phone, the free cloud storage and good speaker. The Pixel 2 XL is really nice too, but then we're getting seriously expensive and it just seems too big tbh.

I do like the LG V30 a lot, but again, it's a big phone.

Galaxy S8 is nice, but I hate a lot of the stupid bloatware Samsung puts on their phones, don't like the idea of Bixby at all.

Aside from that, there's nothing out there too exciting, or necessarily on the horizon. There's some phones on Amazon and what not, off-brand stuff that I like the idea of, but either they're flawed or once you're paying the hidden import taxes built into the price they go from amazing deals to just another lesser phone for only a $100 bucks less then a major brand one through carrier.
Agreed.

I think it's just that there aren't too many things that distinguish flagship phones from mid-range and budget phones to warrant such high prices.

IMO, if you're spending $500+ on a phone, you're looking at it as an investment while the cell phone companies want you to take it as just a holdover to the following year....and then they do it again next year.

Why am I going to spend so much money on a device that's no longer revolutionary or at least a huge upgrade over my current phone, when rumors of the next company's next iteration of the flagship are already leaking and making the phones out now seem a little outdated and not worthy of having such a high price tag.

I have tolerated and adjusted to my Note 3 for such a long time now that I have no problems running it into the ground before I buy a new phone. But I'm pretty sure that when I do get a new one, I'll get a stable phone that's already a year old and has dropped considerably in price. All of these phones are so good now that getting them a year later when they are half their original price and yet just a tad different from the latest and greatest.

All we're doing is calling, texting, watching videos, checking simple apps, and taking quick snapshot pictures. There's no need to spend $1000 annually for a device that does those things. Phones $500 and less can do a lot of that and more. I'm not paying an extra $500 for Animojis lol.

I've officially decided that Verizon can fornicate themselves with a metal stick.

I found some really nice new Sony phones unlocked, but you have to either purchase the US version and flash it to enable the fingerprint sensor, or buy an international version and lose the warranty completely to have it, but if you wind up with certain Asian versions you have to flash that as well to enable VoLTE smh...

And this is all because... Verizon made Sony sign some type of clause that any unlocked phone they sell in the US would have the FP sensor disabled as a penalty for not living up to their sales figures agreement before they kicked Sony to the curb.

I may still cop the Sony and flash it, but idk.

What nonsense.

Spoiler:
1. I can't say I didn't hate Kylo Ren but i definitely hated the rationale of Luke giving up on him. I mean we have seen Luke gave undying compassion and thought, never ending will to save a father he never knew but gives up on Ben for "darkness" he saw in him? It just doesn't vibe. Had there been no before or a story of Luke for all of us to know beforehand, then ok, I can see that cuz we never knew about Luke. However there is precedence that has to be honored and considered here. For him to make such a change in character is hard to digest, not to mention his apparent short lived spotlight right after his "resolve". That only componded the irrational presentation of our cult hero.

I would like to see that scheming side of Kylo, thus emphasising his "Dark" inhibitions. Something that would seperate himself from his grandfather and actually show a similiar route a la Palpatine in terms of getting things done. Now are they going to do a love affair type relationship with Rey? who knows, it seems they were bordering that angle.

I am disappointed, partly due to Rian "can kiss my ass" Johnson's lead and not JJ's, in not seeing the "complete his training" path to the dark side that Snoke graciously declared to us in the end of ep.7.

Spoiler:
Yeah, the rationale made less than zero sense. It just simply goes against everything he was in the first three movies that no rational person can sit there and say that this is a natural progression of a story. I’m all for people changing, and you very well could have made him depressed by having him run away because his students died, and I would have understood that: he failed just like his masters before him had failed. But the way they did it and the reason he did it for? Terrible.

I would have loved scheming Kylo. It would have made him different, better, more dangerous even than Darth Vader by having him scheme against Snoke. Instead, he’s just blandly evil. As for the romance between Rey and Kylo, yeah, I think they were leaving that open and gauging the interest of it to see where it goes in Episode 9. However, I think ultimately they will shy away from it, which leaves them to a problem: are they going to have Rey kill him? Because if not and he is redeemed, they are literally redoing Return of the Jedi. This entire trilogy is a mess when you think about it.

“Come to me, Kylo, we need to complete your training.” Five hours later: Oh, okay, I guess his training is complete. I think Rian either has no sense of time or didn’t give a **** about the Force Awakens, either one.

Spoiler:
2.Agreed. I could just copy n paste your point Luke. I hated the character take, Mark Hamill hated it, how? how the **** Disney saw it as good is beyond me. I'm not against someone changing as they "age" but not like this. Again with his sudden demise/sacrifice, this is the lasting image we have of him. Ask, what do you remember luke the most? his brave decoy moment or his bizarro self? That doesn't sit right and I feel that's a big reason for many( at least me) irritated view on the movie.

Spoiler:
Luke’s character is what made me most angry, as well. I can live with a bad movie. If Luke’s character wasn’t so poorly done, I would have been fine with the movie. The other stuff are just window dressing, but Luke? How **** his character was as a person? That ruined it for me. And I’m not alone in that thought as even Mark Hamill expressed dismay just like you said. I think ultimately you’re going to see a midquel movie between Return of the Jedi and the Force Awakens about Luke that has him doing something heroic and grandiose in order to make him a hero again.

The worst part is they didn’t need to do that. Just have him already be dead, killed when he confronted Snoke, just the galaxy doesn’t know that yet. That would make sense about why he is in hiding: he can’t go anywhere so the First Order doesn’t get wind that he is indeed dead. The whole concept of Luke doesn’t make sense, why leave the map with Lor San if he didn’t want to be found?

Spoiler:
3.Who's Snoke?

lol jk... am i? idk.... As you mentioned, Luke could literally spent 5 mins(not much in movie time) and told Rey how he was caught off guard by Snoke's rise due to such n such. He still isn't sure how he came into power etc etc... Then Snoke or Kylo could finish that thought process in another scene or to Rey as they all meet. Snoke could even tease about his origins, leave a **** cliffhanger for **** sake. but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I like the betrayal(although the moment maybe too early?) from Ren but basically that chapter is closed and he was too important of a character to dimiss so soon without proper information(you built him up, not we the people, you marketed his ass(to Disney)). Might as well use a council like leadership like from the Purge to run the first order and begone with them without interest.
Jar Jar Binks has more screen time and impact into the Star Wars Universe than Snoke, LOL.

Spoiler:
Yup, Snoke was simply lazy storytelling. Or, rather, lack of interest in storytelling as Rian Johnson literally admitted he didn’t know what to do with Snoke. Terrible. If this is Rian Johnson’s skill as a writer, I’m not sure why he was hired in the first place.

The betrayal was fine. Literally, no problems with that. The problem was they built him up with no answers and now the storyline is closed. If he was going to be a nobody, then the Force Awakens shouldn’t have made him seem important. There are literally no foreshadowing of Kylo plotting against him in the Force Awakens, so Snoke’s ignominious defeat seems quick and easy without tension. Bad writing. What would have made it better is by telling the audience that Snoke is this ancient evil that can’t die only for Kylo to figure out how to kill him, now that would have made it worth it.

**** writing all over the place. And I went back to watch it twice so make sure I was right. Yup. Awful on the second watch, too.

The Ugly to come soon.

So with the news that the guys from Game of Thrones are doing a Star Wars series of movies, I can't help but think this is step one of rescinding Rian Johnson's trilogy.

So I'm probably going to ride out this phone for now. The Bluetooth and wifi irk me something fierce, but overall it's still a great phone. I'll wait til the Pixel 2 goes on sale or the price drops again on the unlocked XZ1 Compact and sell this one on LetGo for like a buck fiddy.

Those 2 phones are exceptionally dope though and barring problems like I've run into with the S7 I'll keep either of them for 2 to 3 years and stay on T-Mobile for $80 a month.

Right now I'm paying $190 a month for the family plan, have been for years, so it will be nice to basically cop a top notch new phone for around $200 to $400 up front after selling mine and lower my bill $110 a month.

So Jiren's backstory is basically Kenshin Himura's with a touch of Younger Toguro. This **** is getting lame.

Why the **** would they give away the ending of the next episode. "Noble pride to the end! Vegeta falls!"

They did the same crap with Gohan. WTF, whoever is writing these previews needs to be fired immediately.

Would be pretty cool if 17 didn't actually self-destruct and is just hiding out somewhere hoping that U7 wins based on numbers.

awesome, I loved Kenshin's backstory. he was a highly flawed man who decided to live the rest of his life doing the opposite of what he started out as. Kenshin is one of my all time favorite characters, so if Jiren is like Kenshin, that makes me like him even more. i'll wait til tomorrow at the gym on the elliptical to watch though. :) i burned 400 cals last sunday watching Vegeta put the hands to Toppo. it was great seeing Vegeta finally get a major victory

well, since the end preview spoiled what happens next, hopefully Ultra Instinct Goku vs Jiren will be mind blowing. The fighting stage will probably be completely destroyed, hell it already is. dudes are fighting on pieces of floating rocks at this point

i think there's only like 4 episodes left in the series. hopefully there will be an announcement that the series will return in the fall/winter, i really don't want the story to end here there's so much left to be explored.

I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I think I read that the series is taking a break, but coming back with a movie at the end of the year and possibly continuing next year.

I was hoping for Blue Vegetto or Gogeta here though. Damn it.

The way it was implied by the announcement, the series (Dragon Ball Super) is ending but that's not the end of DragonBall anime, so more than likely after the film comes out in December the series will resume under a new name. They have to pull their key staff off of the series to make a theatrical film and based off of what i was reading they really had to bust their asses to meet the weekly demand. they also have to recast Bulma and frankly they should be wary that Goku's voice actress is 81 years old :-? .

i gave up on hoping for a Vegetto return once i saw Ultra Instinct in action.

Also, don't forget that

Spoiler:
Freeza still hasn't been eliminated yet. He came out of nowhere last episode and tried to troll Jiren and paid for it badly. But he's still in play, which is crazy since he took two terrible beatings from both Toppo and Jiren.

I think Freeza still has one trolling moment left in him.

Bardock and Brolly will be the first two DLC characters.

Even though they're technically two different people, how many more Goku characters will be in this game? They already have SS Goku, SSBlue Goku, Goku Black. I heard a rumor that Saiyan Saga Goku will be among the DLC characters, which would be an awful decision. I'd rather just see Ultra Instinct Goku

Still holding out hope for Kale and Chaulifa :-?
