So who do you guys, and separately, do you think your forum wants more overall in the draft? Young or Doncic? I see everyone talking about Young, but obviously most lists have Doncic at 1 and Young more like 4-6 (or wherever one of our teams land).

Most want Young, then Doncic. They seem to think Young will not go as high as expected and we can get him around 5-7. I admit I have just peaked in on their convo because I am not watching. I don't care who they draft because I think our FO puts names in a paper bag and picks, then we ignore them (Hezonja) or crap on them and give them away (Vic, Tobias, Ariza, pick from plenty of others ) I don't try to predict anymore I just watch and smh.

You mentioned you read our player threads...you should check out our draft thread as well...I have run many polls...sometimes with who people want if multiple players our available (like if we get 1 or 2)...at 1 it has been Doncic/Ayton/Young in that order...but if you just go Ayton vs Young (assuming Doncic is gotten and we have 2) it is much closer than they were...

So it seems like many our either that vote Doncic or Young when both are options against Ayton, will vote for the other (between Doncic/Young) if it was between only one of them and Ayton.

Also, Bagley beats Porter slightly in an overall vote (if we had 1st pick, though few votes for either), but head to head if we had to choose only between them two, Porter beats him.

All of our poll results are in the first post of that thread.

We need defense and 3 pt shooting, and probably a PG and C. The bad thing is, Young and Ayton are not good defenders, Bagley either...and Doncic puts more effort there and has the higher iq and better team D....

But JJJ and Bamba are defensive C's which we could use (both with tons of blocks), and JJJ is a great 3 pt shooter...both can switch on guards...so they are theoretical better fits than Ayton, but Ayton hype is high, likely partly because he plays at AZ, but also partly because he is highly ranked.

But a few of us who are AZ fans are lukewarm on Ayton and we probably watch him more.

For you guys it's a bit more of a quandary because you have centers but desperately need a PG and shooters or a transcendent player like Doncic.

I know your forum is hugely divisive on many things...I see all the reports there and besides the huge team forums, you guys lead the league there, and are much like our forum with divisiveness, but with far more people who get heated about it, so we are very similar, but you guys almost seem more frustrated than us, even though both of us started not making the playoffs about the same time...but of course you guys have had some huge #1 picks leave you and then also had to watch trading players who flourish elsewhere which has to be frustrating.

That's my only issue with Payton he put up a great game but I'd argue Canaan getting streaky is worth more.

But a playable Payton is worth much more than an injured Canaan, right?

I am happy with what our young guys did tonight. It’s too bad Daniels shot so poorly, because that would have really opened everything up. Bender took a lot to the basket, and that is awesome. I’d love to see this team finish playing very well together, win or lose. Payton really needs to cut that hair though, it has to be a distraction while playing.

So when does Big Sauce return? And what can we get for Chriss this coming offseason?

Some here wanted Rubio. Well, looks like we did a bit better. We got Payton for free and he actually fits the timeline.

If only Chriss would get his attitude together, he could really benefit from our new PG. Much like TJ/Bender/JJ did tonight.

What a quality loss. We are cruising to a top 5 pick, Elf looked decent with us, our young guys continue to get better ...

So glad he played well for you guys. We'll see if it continues, but he pretty much showed what he is about. Just a solid point guard that still has a lot to work on, but also has some good things to offer for a team.

The Nuggets were on the tail end of a road b2b. They played no defense whatsoever.

A lot of teams don't play defense in the league to be fair. I just think he'll make the lives easier for a few of these other guys on your team that aren't used to getting the ball while cutting or trailing or some other places.

Good loss. Played with effort. Almost all the “core” guys played well.

Man....Payton looked better than I thought. I’ll wait before I get too excited.
JJ was brilliant yet again, a bad pass alley-pop, 2missed free throws, and a blown layup from 26pts.
Bender was inconsistent again, but good this time.
TJ was TJ...
And we lost and Dallas won.

I wish I wasn’t banned from the GB because I’d be getting banned all over again because the GB decided JJ was a bust after 10 games....Can’t wait until he makes Boston fans angry because of his good play.

Was at the yotes game so didn't watch but good to see the youngins looked good with a competent pg. The play from that position has been so dismal.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming Wow! What a Ride!-H.S.T.

Those posts put some weight on this thread. (and there's nothing wrong with that!)

You can ask for an account review on the General Board and likely be able to post again (I am on the voting panel to let guys back) but it's strict and more important to be respectful, and people will rip our players at times...best to stay out of those threads unless you are very tactful.

GENERAL NBA ACCOUNT REVIEW
--- -- --- --- - --- -- - --- -- --- --- - --- -- - --- -- --- --- - --- -- -
Any User with one strike, two strikes, read-only access or a full General NBA Board Ban can simply send Howard Mass a PM and request that their account be reviewed.

Title the message 'Account review'. And submit a request to have your past infractions reviewed.

The General NBA Board Moderator Appeals Committee which is made up by multiple members of the 12 members of the Moderator Team on the General NBA Board will then review the account.

It's possible that they will vote to:
- Remove a strike from your record
- Remove multiple strikes from your record
- Lift your Read-Only access or General NBA Board Ban
- Give you a "Clean Slate" on our General NBA Board

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1533796

Plus it now takes more strikes to get read only access. But if you think you'd get banned again it might not be worth it.

That Dragan Bender guy who is not allergic to the paint is pretty good. Can we keep him?

I'm almost done with him...

He half-ases his moves to the rim, with maybe 70% effort so he gets stripped easily or he gets clogged by 2 defenders easily... so athletic, but makes dumb moves and uses his energy and burst at the worst timings.

He complains a lot, argues with refs when he doesnt get the calls not running back to play defense.. He takes dumb shots rather than look for spaces to use his apparently "good" mobility and athleticism.

The potential is still there, but usually they don't pan out if they don't show adjustments.

Maybe one day he'll wake up and realize he is playing the wrong way and becomes "good".... maybe.
