Our 2018 FA target will be JJ Reddick
Someone who has played with Blake, and can shoot the lights out. Someone who coach SVG has kept in touch with over the years. We can offering him a starting spot on a playoff caliber team. I doubt he wants another short term deal so 4 years MLE type money or just below should get the job done.

Would think we can't afford him and contenders will be all over him if he's willing to take a discount

Absolutely.
All we have to offer is the tax MLE I think. He can get that with a better team, or he can get more money on a lesser team.

I believe the theory is JJ Redick got $22M from the 76ers this season with the understanding he re-signs there for discount.

Not to say we couldn't use more shooters but our biggest need is another guy that can penetrate and create his own shot.
Since RJ went down that's been the teams biggest glaring weakness and point of inconsistency.

I could see the Sixers going younger at the SG spot as Reddick is 33 and will be on a decline in theory when their young core hits its peak. I would see them more likely to sign KCP(24), Bradley(27), Parker(22), LaVine(22), Evans(28), Hood(25), Barton(27).

After going to the game last night I would give consideration to Mirotic to replace tolliver, he plays good defense and very good 3 pointers shooter.

If all we want is for a guy to spot up and shoot 3's while not playing defense, may as well just save the money and play kennard. It's not like we are looking for the final piece of the puzzle for a championship.

Our biggest glaring weakness is our defense. We can definitely score the ball really well, we have fire power. It's our defense that needs work and it's because there's so many new players. Communication was already tough and now they're basically starting over. Jackson comes back and it might become worse on defense.

Difference in payment is massive and he won't be starting when he should be. I feel bad for you. Learn cap space and how it works. Being a GM is tougher than you think. Numbers are probably hard to match let alone talent and priceless assets like picks.

I think we'd have to pay him like 2 Million more per year to pull him from philly
I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

Re: Our 2018 FA target will be JJ Reddick
The knee jerk reaction is that we can't afford him.
I don't think that's the case. I don't think he's going to command anything more than the MLE in the current market. But, would he want to come and play with Blake again, and (likely) be coached by SVG?
Also, that's a lot of money tied up in guys who can only play SG, if it's Redick, Galloway and Kennard.
We need a competent small forward and a starting PG who can actually stay on the floor more than MORE shooting guards.
But hey, whatever. I'm fully committed to the idea that this team is going to suck for the next 5 years anyways.

I guess it's possible we could do a s&t with Philly, Leuer and Kennard maybe? They need shooting and Luke obviously would be a good fit for them age wise as well but do we want to trade his youth for a guy Reddicks age?

What did we do to turn into the Orlando pistons? I mean seriously what did us fans do to deserve this?

I wouldn't, Kennard should be even better next year after a full season and offseason under his belt. I think next season he will pretty much be the same player or close too just much younger

Re: Our 2018 FA target will be JJ Reddick
I think we are ok on the wings between Kennard, Stanley, Ennis, Bullock and Gallo since he ain't going anywhere.
We actually lucked out on having those two positions under cost friendly control. We need a backup 4/5 but most importantly we need to commit to finding a starting reliable PG who will be out there for sure with us for the next 4 years now.
I'm just saying screw it at this point cause your already all in cap wise on our frontcourt. And using picks to dump and Upgrade Reggie.
Like Seriously find a way to get Kemba here and locked up and just run with a big 3 of Kemba, Blake and Drummond until those 3 deals run out and we enter a long due bottom out rebuild.
Maybe something like a Reggie, Stanley and 1st for Kemba and Marvin Williams. Then draft Bruce Brown in the 2nd round lol.
Kemba/Ish/Brown
Kennard/Galloway/Brown
Bullock/Ennis
Griffin/Williams
Drummond/Moreland
I can dig something like that. Moreland looks like the weakest link but wouldn't see the floor much between staggering Blake, Drummond, Marvin and even Tolly if he comes back.
Plus Reggie will only have two years left of his deal and will be worth absorbing to a tanking team for a asset with him now I would hope.

I agree on the thinking I just don't think Kemba is the guy I want. I want a shooter/distributor that's not about to ask for $40 million a year.

Dragic? A little older but would be a solid fit. Rilley might be ready to do a roster turnover by the offseason anyways

I like Dragic, he's not as young as I would prefer but his game should age well. His efficiency numbers are down but in SVGs system with the guys we have he won't draw as much attention from defenses. I think him and Whiteside will both get moved this summer.
