I suspect Joerger played a role in making Caboclo inactive. What a jerk.

Did Kayte say Caboclo won't play until after the break?

Bogdan is having little issue with Butler when they've tried posting him up. He can handle SF. He even sealed off Gibson without issue.

First Half thoughts...
BUDDY
If you think of him as an explosive college scorer/high draft pick you're gonna be disappointed in him. If you consider him just a 3-pt specialist you'll appreciate him a little more...mostly cause he does other stuff better than a typical 3-pt specialist. Not great on D but he's able to pick up steals here and there on a 1-man press. Also has improved his driving and rebounds better than you'd expect.
FOX
1st quarters like today make me wonder what the ceiling could be for Fox. After the draft there was talk of him being a perennial all-star type/primary scoring option. That tempered a ton in the early part of the year but he's showed a lot recently. Could he be the primary scoring option on a winning team or are we banking on that piece coming in this year's draft?
WCS
Again, like Buddy if you temper the expectations and consider WCS a nice rotational big off the bench you'll be impressed. If you think of him as a primary interior option both on offense and defense he will disappoint. I don't know any premier big who wouldn't be able to have his way with Willie. He's a good player but just isn't an NBA starter..plain and simple.
PLAYING WELL BUT...
The Kings youngsters are playing great tonight, which is what we want to see BUT....we have to lose this game. With Atlanta winning (and Dallas potentially winning) this would be a critical loss to pick up if you can call it that. We all want to see good play but seriously...if a win like tonight could be the difference between us drafting 2nd or 5th we know what needs to happen.

Also ZBo has been truly awful tonight. I know we don't have many other options in terms of interior scoring but i'd almost be in favor of starting Jakarr at this point. "Thew it to ZBo and watch him work" isn't doing much for the development of the other players.

I remember them saying something about potential visa issues. He does play in Canada after all.

And when he's used as that he shows that's what he can potentially be. This is still the worst offensive team that is playing their most able scorer and yes, in explosive fashion at times, as an 7th/8th man. It makes little sense unless they truly think they'll climb higher than bottom 4 on defense this year.
I don't think Fox will be your primary scoring option but he's good on defense and with is playmaking to the point that he might not have to be. He's also cementing the reasons you probably look past players like Young and maybe Doncic in this upcoming draft. Bogdan is helping in that decision as well.

So you saw it too. No need to get all heated, just pointing out the impossible.

but him being stuck at SG isn't reality.
He isn't stuck there but it is what I think is best for the young core depending on matchups.

Since attempting to set up Butler down low Thibs has resorted to running Butler off screens to get separation from Bogdan.

I agree with it depending on matchups, but I've been looking for it all year since the discussions in the summer and I can't pinpoint a single game where Bogdan was swallowed up by the competition physically to the extent that it made it unworkable. I think him guarding bigger players is something that they'd be better off exploring more and more these last couple of weeks of the season.

My feeling on Doncic....Fox just isn't a natural distributor so having Bogi/Doncic on the court with him could help mask that.
Honestly down the line on a winning team i probably see Fox being a 15ppg 6th man off the bench...but that's just my guess.
Nevertheless... tonight was basically the perfect loss for the Kings. Our youngsters (Fox/Bogi/Buddy) were our best players on the court and we lost/helped our draft odds.

He doesn't have to be swallowed up for the Kings to see that it's a bad matchup. In fact its better if they see it before that point. I just think his size and skill at the 2, the progression of Jackson at the 3 plus the possibility of adding a marquee signee or draft pick at the SF, and Hield clear need for shots that will be limited in the starting lineup all make SG a better fit for him. We can disagree.
