At the very least, the team now is a lot more fun to watch. All those guys they traded just brought too much drama imo. I really don't care about the gossip, he said this, he said that stuff.

if he takes that roster through the playoffs and past the Warriors? Yeah I think there's a real case to be made there.

Add Zach Lavine to the list of players we whiffed and missed on in the draft. Yea Cho needs to be fired lol.

watching Jazz/Spurs and it reinforced how much more I prefer Ingles over Batum.
Jazz approached Ingles when they knew Hood was leaving and asked him to increase his scoring aggression. Hence three 20+ point games in a row.

Ingles and Batum both have a lumbering style but instead of just trying fancy passes, Ingles is always attacking inside the key forcing the defence to react then creating. It's not fancy but it works. Spurs had not answer for Ingles/Favors pick n roll.

On a related note, I wish we took Snyder as head coach. Gobert was about to sub in during the 4th as per rotation, but as Favors was rolling, Snyder changed his mind and kept Gobert on the bench. I could never imagine Clifford doing that to Dwight.

Favors deserves to be a starting centre. He was awesome at the end of this game.

Favors would be one of my top trade targets, although we don't really have anything to give.

Lol. Poor Frank

I don't feel too bad for him. His effort on D is on him.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I've never been as displeased with one of our drafts picks as I was when we took Frank. For a brief moment there it looked like I was wrong and it was a good pick, but now its looking worse and worse as time goes on and the other players we could have had keep improving while Frank is looking like Spencer Hawes redux.

I'm hoping that getting a new coach who actually understands modern positions and won't have Frank chasing around athletic PFs/SFs on defense and trying to beat them off the dribble on offense will help trend his career back in the right direction, but its hard to say. It seems much easier to hide him on defense at center and he seems to work better against closeouts (both shooting and attacking) against centers. His passing and vision seems to be underutilized constantly playing in dysfunctional lineups that lack shooting, scoring, and playmaking.

Idk, Frank is such a weird and confusing player. I feel like he should be better than he has performed, but it just hasn't worked out.

The biggest gaffe on Frank is being sold that he has a high bball IQ.

it just hit me that there were really only 5 true starters in the entire 2015 draft (Towns, KP, Book, Turner, Russell), a couple more low end starters/high end backups (Oubre, Richardson, Winslow), a few potential starters (Lyles, WCS, haven't quite given up on Hezonja yet), and then a bunch of bench dudes.

Is IT a free agent? I would sign him with the mle, no clue how he and Kemba fit though.

I would easily take IT as a backup PG next season. Without a doubt in my mind I think he’ll get 6th Man of the Year or be a top candidate for it next season. Whatever team lands him will benefit from his production.

I personally think it’s a shame that people are judging his performance after he’s returned from injury sooner than expected and didn’t have any offseason training due to having major hip surgery. Anyone expecting him not to be a few steps behind was only kidding themselves. There was absolutely no way barring something resembling a miracle (i.e. Adrian Peterson returning from torn ACL) would he be playing on the same level as he did last year in Boston coming off 6 months of rehabilitation.

I have absolutely no doubt that IT will still receive way more than anything we can (or should) offer.

Getting IT on a Jeremy Lin prove-it contract is every team's dream scenario. We don't have room under the luxury tax to do something like that. The MLE is $8M+ these days.

A lot of teams will be hamstrung for cap space after the bad contracts they signed during the cap spike. The best way to acquire IT likely will be via sign-and-trade. And if Mitch Kupchak is going to be our next GM his relations within the Lakers organization could be helpful.

I’d even be willing to take on Deng’s contract while sending Batum out in order to land IT even if it’s just for one season that may help catapult us in to the ECF.
