As is the case in the Doncic thread on the draft board, this discussion is no longer about Doncic.
Anyways, how 'bout Ayton, Bamba, Porter or ... anyone else? Guys? Somebody?
ETA: How about another pointed question. Name someone not currently being considered for a top3 pick who could end up Donovan Mitchell'ing them all? My vote is Sexton.
A guy that will climb is Mikal Bridges. Right now teams are in love with all these guys putting on shows and highlights...when it comes to individual one on one workouts...Mikal will end until rising and fast...I’ve seen him around 7-12 picks...I say he could climb for sure and he the Donovan Mitchell of this draft...
Give me a top 7 pick...please..my big board
1. Luka Bird
2. Ayton
3. Bagley
4. Young
5. Porter
6. Bamba
7. Mikal Bridges
I could see Mik. Bridges being one that outshines many picked before him. However, (1) I don't see him rising up boards and (b) that wasn't the question anyways!
(1) I suspect, in a workout scenario, he'll only catch the attention of smart front offices so he'll fly over the heads of places like PHX, ORL, SAC, DAL, MEM, CHA, etc.
(b) I'm more so asking for guys who'll be picked low but who'll end up better than the golden boys. So you got a right answer but you just got lucky.

The thing about Donovan Mitchell...he's older and that was a big reason he fell in the first place. And a big reason he was capable of stepping in and being productive sooner.
He also is an undersized tweener, so his position was in question coming in. Looks like a PG, plays like a SG.
He is uber athletic, but his role was in question and scouts focused too much on the holes in his game.
All of these sound like...Miles Bridges:
Sophomore, plays for a future HOF college coach. Undersized with no clear NBA position.
Miles and Mikal are my bets for the Donovan Mitchell -- 'slept on superstar' award from this draft.
(Lonnie Walker is the diamond in the rough, though. Just wait til Fall 2020!!!! )

So you want someone in the teens...
I mean ummmm...that didn’t sound right...you want somebody selected around the teens or later who will kill it?...hmmm...

Miles another good one for sure...I’ve cooled off on him a bit as of late...the production is there but something about his game worries me a tad. I still love his physical nature and a great pro body no doubt.

Much better. Professor kg01 was worried about your testing skills.
Alkins caught my attention last season. This season, whenever I see him, it looks like he's doing too much. Like trying too hard to up his draft stock. I dunno, just an impression I get when I see him play.

I like this question. I asked earlier who's the best wing with upside that can be THE guy.
I think I'm leaning more to this type of player than a big.
Bigs scare me especially with the changing NBA landscape.

I think he's a swiss army knife, do it all player that will do his best Draymond impression.
I see him avg a sneaky good 15 points/7 rebounds/ 3 assists/ 2 blocks/ 2 steals whilst providing shut-down, on-ball defense.

Yes sir..agreed. He’s physical no doubt and can be a stopper at the next level. Speaking of Draymond’s...how’s Colston playing? Thought he was supposed to be in the draft last year...

Mitchell was born in 1996. So he’s 21-22 now. It’s quite similar to the Lillard/Davis situation. Lillard was 22 in his rookie year and outperformed a 19-y/o Davis to win the unanimous ROY. However, Davis is clearly considered a better player.

Great comp.
And Davis is absolutely, unquestionably a better player than Dame.
But that's led to a single playoff appearance and 0 playoff wins for the Pelicans in the 5 seasons since.
Worth noting.

Thanks. But let’s not ignore what a **** joke the pelicans organization has been since they drafted Davis. Bashing David purely based on that is unfair.

Re: Absurdly early 2018 NBA Draft Thread
Even if they choose Doncic, I still want another ball handler with the Minny pick. Hopefully it improves to somewhere around the 20th pick. I'd be ecstatic with Brown out of Oregon. Very Evan Turner esque type of game. I'd be fine with a project big with one of the latter two picks. A pg like Brunson would also fill a need at point.

^Picking up Brunson with our second round pick would be a solid move.

my guess is that people from Nba are going in Spain to see Copa del Rey and not some unimportant league match. From 15-18 february, 8 best Spanish teams are playing for the spanish cup. The finalists will play 3 matches in 4 days.
