We desperately need shooting so bad, my top 3 are Doncic, Young and Porter. JJJ would be great too because he addresses both things we desperately need...shooting and defense. I think with a frontcourt of JJJ and Bender our rim protection and ability to switch is excellent. We would just struggle against bigger guys so may need to sign a cheap brute for guys like that.

Ayton and his physical stuff his good and Bagley's energy but neither of those guys address our two biggest needs...defense and shooting....we are just clogging things more in a clogged offense and not improving our D both at the same time.

I feel like you're sleeping on Bagley. He looks like young Amare with a 3-point shot (35%) to me out there. He's relentless in attacking the rim on the block like Amare was the first few years.

I absolutely agree with you regarding our biggest problems at the moment. We need shooting and defense badly. Still, I think you go BPA in the draft.

I might be. And I think he could be really really good. But for our team he doesn't seem like as good of a fit. I do think IF he could hit the 3, he'd be good, but he's under 32% in conf play and shoots 62% from the line, which is usually a good indicator.

Jackson shot 37.8% from 3 in college and was actually better in conf play at 43.5% from 3. Though he did shoot even worse from the line.

I think Bagley is a high energy guy like Jackson who will be a good NBA player and maybe would have been the best in the class 10 years ago.

We need Payton, Jackson, Warren and Chriss to shoot like 10,000 3s over the summer and get their %s and/or volume up. Otherwise our offense will always be clogged. Especially if we draft another one.

We obviously will need to move one of Warren and Jackson to the bench (probably Warren), which is fine because he can still get his minutes and be instant offense.

To an extent. I mean the 3 contracts I would consider to be bad are all off the books after next season. That isn't that bad.

Fact is neither of them have any resemblance of a 3pt and it kills the offense. Warren stopped even improving his 3pt shot, he barely even takes any now!!

I don’t understand how Warren calls himself a “scorer” who does nothing productive on defense and yet hasn’t developed a 3pt shot going into his 5th year in the NBA.

I’ll give Jackson credit for at least attempting them, looks like he may be working on it in practice and is expecting it to transfer over in games.

100% agree, I like both players, Jackson more, but they are the exact same player especially on the offensive end no range and slasher/mid range game, granted Warren is ahead of Jackson there right now. Warren will need to be a Vinnie the Microwave johnson, 6th man or we will need to trade him for another piece this off season.

Bagley is the guy I want for the Suns. I think that completes this team nicely... Payton/Booker/Jackson/Bagley/Bender Bench Warren/VeteranPG FreeAgent/Daniels/Chirss/Big Sauce/Reed/Chandler/knight and filler around that... that is a team with a bright future...

Or instead of a Veteran PG trade up for Sexton behind Payton

I disagree. Unless we can get fair trade value out of Warren then we aren't trading him. He can be our sixth man once JJ develops more. He just signed a ridiculously good contract for us too. Right now we are battling injuries so next year if everyone comes into the season healthy, or even training camp really, we should be looking a lot better. I do agree that having both Jackson and Warren play together doesn't seem to stretch the floor enough, but perhaps if we put Booker in that lineup with them, they may be able to find backdoor cuts.
Still though, Warren coming off the bench will be huge, especially if Knight can also come back and put up decent scoring numbers. I'm not ready to give up on Warren just yet, since he has been improving every year. If he asks for a trade because he isn't starting, then that's another story.

Warren is on a very good contract and a good young player. Just needs to find the right role on this team. Knight and Warren off the bench could potentially be decent scoring

I guess Revived decided to say what I did two posts earlier, but yes, neither can start long term if you can't shoot, unless you have 4 others around them. That's why I said they all better shoot 10,000 3s this summer. Warren is obviously best as a 6th man unless he had shooting and defense, and Jackson will never be good enough to start on a good playoff team without a 3 pt shot. He will basically be an MKG.

That being said, without those skills they won't hold much trade value in the league either.

I'm not a guy that will give up on either player, but they better work hard on that aspect this summer or this team will be not go far with them and they likely wouldn't fetch anything in trade value. Plenty of people have improved their shooting. There is zero reason Warren can't be passable...because he has a knack for scoring anywhere else and can shoot from the line..it's all mental. JJ is more of a long shot due to being a 60% FT shooter. It's nice he tries them but no one guards him so it's ineffective since his defenders leave him to double team and he hits below 26%.

I know Jackson will work hard at it since he improves his shot. So I pray he improves and TJ needs to move to the bench if he doesn't improve as well, because at least he is elite with what he can do and can provide an instant scoring punch.

The problem is, in most games now, without his scoring, we are in real trouble, because no one else besides Booker can regularly score.

So you want ANOTHER guy who can't shoot after saying we can't play two of our starters because of that? In conference play he shoots 31.8% from 3 and 62% from the line. Not a good defender either.

I agree. I don't see us trading him and he's a perfect 6th man. Can't start if Jackson is going to though. But there likely is limited trade value and they just gave him that reasonable extension.

Seriously though, no more potential. We need actual talent, right now. I'm not saying we don't draft that talent, but we need someone who we don't need to wait on anymore. I keep saying it, but..

I have no problem bringing Jackson off the bench though. You can still give him a ton of minutes as the sixth man. If Warren can handle coming off the bench, that would work too. If neither improves their 3 point shot, it would make it tough to start them both. But if we do/did, they should be slashing to the hoop constantly.

If we are drafting a player we are hoping they pan out because we truly have no idea until they get in the league and play, Booker wouldnt have went 13th if people thought he would be this good, Mitchell wouldn;t have been available for Utah and so on and so on, so what you said makes no sense unless we are going to trade our draft picks and try to obtain known quantities in the NBA somehow...

Well he did draft Kuzma too. I think daddy Ball is going to have to change his approach, or take his kids overseas.

Agree no more draft projects that shoot poor at the free throw line and have poor shooting percentages. All these big guys in this draft are frightening in that they are just big man projects who have dominated in high school and college because they are 7 ft+ can dunk, rebound, and sometimes block shots. Inflated shooting percentages on dunks means nothing in the NBA. Sounds like we would be replacing Tyson and Len with younger guys who don't fit in the NBA anymore.

We need a 7 footer like Markkanen who can space the floor and rebound. Draft pure shooters and we will be better off because in the end it's who can score from three and handle the ball to get layups.

I agree with him. It's time to get some people in here in the draft where we are not saying things like "I think they can improve their shooting in time". We already have like 4-5 guys like that, and it hasn't happened quickly for anyone, so I am not sure why people think it will with him.
