I didn't even know we re-signed him yesterday
Jeez

Bobby Brown just got free money.

Just stop bringing him back already.

They were fulfilling a promise.

What promise?
Morey 2020.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?
A:Ask a stock market analyst or your financial advisor

I wonder if there's a chance that the Rockets aren't done on the buyout market. Not in trouble of hitting the tax, and a report coming out of Memphis (by Vernon who is very plugged in there, used to work for the Ringer but idk where he's at now) that the Rockets were about to trade Black and Williams for Wright at the deadline, but a third team who was talking Troy and sending something to Memphis backed out. That seems to point to both those guys being seen as expendable. Williams only has a $600k guarantee next season which can be stretched over 5 years at $120k per year. Basically nothing. Cutting both opens up an extra spot. Maybe a Tony Allen or a point guard who gets bought out later

Jerryd Bayless could get bought out by Sixers so they can sign Belinelli.
Harden is still a work-in-progress. He can score, but he can't help his teammate that much - Yao Ming

I think he has another year under contract, which would make that unlikely

JJ has cleared waivers and still hasn't signed because they still haven't waived anyone. Wonder what the hold up is and who it will be after all

something like that
JJ was waived on Sunday, so they can sign him 48 hours later
not sure what the hold up
maybe they are going to waive Black because they don't want Williams guaranteed money holding up cap space for off-season
IDK

some think the reason is Nene can't play back to back so they need Black to play tonight before waiving him to sign JJ

I mean ... isn't that the reason you shouldn't waive Black?

Dear Mr. Morey,

Stop thinking next season. Think of this season. We need Black more than Williams. Waive Williams.

They don't need Black with Wright on the team though

Wright is kind of injured prone and he can't really muscle other big center.

He will only play if Nene gets hurt, Black would only play if Nene and Wright are both injured. Plus, late in the playoffs we are going to see a lot of Tucker at center against team like GSW. That lineup has been ridiculous this season, though the sample size isn't huge. +35 per 100 (135 offensive rating, 100 defensive) in over 100 possessions

Sure

I have no control what Morey will do

remember Capela is avg <30 mpg

Nene, Wright, Tucker, Anderson can share the other 18 min

I don't think the guaranteed money is what saved Troy Williams. He is guaranteed for a touch over $600k next year, followed by a non guaranteed season. using the stretch provision (stretch guarantee $$ over (years remaining x 2) +1 ), that's just over $120k over the next five years. That's almost nothing to an NBA team. There's also the chance he would get claimed, in which case the Rockets are completely off the hook of any future salary

I guess that you could say...

that it is a Black or Wright situation.
