well I was surprised SVG didnt offer his left used shoe for Elf.Propably was working on other trades though or maybe he did offer....anyway I wish we knew how other offer looked like
it was strange trade we wanted NY Ntikilina and settled for basicly nothing....40+th pick is basicly= cash considerations esp in hands of dumb and dumber

I think if we asked for late 1st rounder to begin with we would be able to trade him...but the bar was set up so high then none bited they felt rushed....and traded him for nothing on the last second

LOL. I too thought of Detroit as a low key possibility to be the east coast team, although most will guess NYK. I am more curious as to who the other west coast team was. I do wonder if he put that out there to plant a seed in PHX that he had others interested in hopes of them not coming with a small offer.

We asked for Ntikilina because he was one of the few assets the Knicks had that were worth a damn. It's not a bizarre ask given that the Knicks wanted our PG, it's a fair assumption that they weren't really valuing their current young PG.

Yeah I'm sure the bigger offers were for us to take a longer contract and get a pick.. Why would we shed minimal money to then take on long term money?

He also could be (smart PR/Agent move) saying this to up his RFA Value as it doesn't look good being traded for what was a straight dump. Yeah part of that is the position we were in but let's be honest, none of the rumored deals were any good. Best one I heard was McDermott for EP and that fell through for a Dallas/NY/Denver deal.. The outrage would be 10x more had we done the Noah/Biz rumored swap.

I also doubt this was a Panic move and more of a you want X money in RFA and we don't value you at that so we're just going to dump you and let you get the best offer you can. We have DJ & Mack so there is no reason to sign another backup PG to a multi year deal.

Agree our PG situation is a huge ? mark.. However they have some decent options IMO. Maybe they're ok with DJ starting next year and draft Ayton or Doncic or Bagley or JJJ or Porter JR type player. We also could very well end up 5-8th pick. That is range for Trae Young if they feel like he is BPA. Maybe they go after VanFleet in FA as he was drafted by Weltman..

They grabbed a 2nd round pick (NON Guaranteed $) so maybe they hit on a Brogdon/Bell/Kuzma type player if not he can be waived or the pick could be used in a Package with Vuc or Fournier to maybe move down into end of 1st? So while right now the pick is valued at Nothing come Draft night that could change.

Will be really interesting to see what type of $ he gets offered and where he ends up.

Hey guys, coming fresh off the Steve Nash era these last few years have been incredibly frustrating for us so I know how it is to feel hopeless. I hope you can hit lottery gold this year and get that "Devin booker" type talent you can build a franchise around. I dont know a whole lot about your owner and GM but it seems like theres been some pretty bad moves. I can't seem to figure out how they sold on EP so low. Like you couldn't even get 2 second rounders?!

Anyways, like I said I'm rooting for you guys to right the ship!

Dude those weak ass screenshots lol. I can make a screenshot from a literal perfect game from Jordan or LeBron and make it look bad.

1st pic was on transition. Zaza missed the layup, Curry was trying to stop Elfrid from passing ahead or going into the lane by running with his back to him and his arms out, thought Elfrid was going to the paint, Elfrid passed it to the wing, received it back again, once Curry realized he didn't drive on the initial attempt he came back up and bodied up on Payton and he blew past Curry. Suns scored.

2nd pic Payton could've shot that, but didn't. Again it was right after them getting back on transition. Klay was lost (not daring Payton to shoot), Payton pump faked the shot, Klay ran up to him (aka not daring him to shoot), Payton bounce passed it to TJ Warren for the easy basket. Suns scored.

3rd pick, Durant got screened by Len (and he went under).. which I'm not sure what the point is. We go under on the best players in the world

Just weak ass screenshots if he's trying to point anything out or trying to prove a point. If he really wanted to prove something it would be just people ignoring him all together while doubling up on other players. Watch how dudes played Roberson and you'll see straight up disrespect.

Also says this:

Read on Twitter

Magic fans like this dude look really desperate when they try to nitpick things that actually go against what they're trying to prove.

I saw the screenshots and i wanted to slap the dude. Ridiculous.

I guess If Elfrid isnt MJ and lead his team to 60 wins , he is the fault of everything LOL

Let his team win 60 and the fans will start digging into his statistics lol

The Suns worked you out multiple times before the draft and GM Ryan McDonough recently said he was disappointed when you were selected four picks before they were on the clock back in 2014. How nice is it to be in a situation where you know that you’re wanted and where they feel comfortable giving you a ton of minutes and responsibilities immediately after acquiring you?

EP: It feels really good. That’s what every player in the NBA wants. That’s really all you can ask for – to be wanted, to play for someone who wants to see you succeed and to be with an organization where everyone puts their trust in you. Now, I just have to make the most of this opportunity.

"Payton: I mean… A little bit. I think a lot of other people were more upset about it than I was, though. Others took it to heart more than I did, but that’s just because of the type of person I am. I’m pretty nonchalant and I don’t really get worked up, so it wasn’t really that big of a deal to me. I’ve always felt underrated and felt like I have to prove myself. I’m the kind of player who feels like you have to prove yourself every single night – no matter what you’ve done or who you are – because in this league everyone is thinking, “What have you done for me lately?” So it wasn’t too big of a deal to me.

(Long pause) It was kind of crazy, though. I’ve seen a lot of people say that it was a steal for Phoenix and stuff like that; I guess time will tell. I heard they were offered a lot more than a second-round pick [from other teams], but they just didn’t decide to do one of those other trades… I don’t know all of the details, but I know they had offers from a team in the East and a different West Coast team other than Phoenix..."

Yeah it probably touched that wound he had of only being recruited by one team. He made something out of that and hopefully will continue to turn lemons into lemonade. Like, chik-fil-a grade lemonade

Is it only me who feels a player shouldn’t need a trade / change of team to be motivated to play with full effort / energy all the time?

Aggression is another beast all together. I have never seen Payton not give effort in a game. Actually, most of our players I have seen give effort but there are a lot of other factors at play.

Scratch that, Jeff Green didn't give effort. That lazy **** would walk most of the time out there.

This thread has been very interesting to say the least lol. I will say this, Elf gets a lot more free reign with Phoenix than I've ever seen him with the Magic. Jay Triano already seems to trust him with running the offense and attacking when necessary.
