Off one listen... New Cozz is tough. Cole really built a squad.

My fav Sky bar thus far is:

Word to Kenny, all this works, who working with me?,
‘cause it was either work out a verse or work a semi,
Box out like Hakeem, 30/20,
Threw the pump fake and they’re thinking I work for semi,

bruh...

Seems like we get this once every few months. I'm curious if the kids these days even know the man who influenced damn near every rapper in the generation to follow his own.

He’s not wrong. One of my friends is a counselor for young teens and they represent most of the Uzi/Yachty/69 etc. fan demographics. Music labels putting greater emphasis on creating sound rather than bars esp. w streaming services now

I saw it! He's been on IG more also. I'm sooooo excited. I hope he's really back. I still want that Kid with the Green Backpack album.

Encompassing everything in that album artwork. Perfection.

Started awhile back man. The culture died a long time ago. The music was all that was left. I knew the music was dying many years ago. Repeating words over and over. Purposely mispronouncing words to make them rhyme. Then I started noticing that lyrics were being placed behind the beats during mix downs.

But each phase was accepted by fans. That’s when I knew. It’s like anything else in life. Pushing that line further out. Putting more air in the chip bag. There’s no need to try if people are willing to accept less. Now there’s literally no need to say anything on a track.

If a man was smart. He’d release an instrumental only album. Maybe some voice samples. Visual to match. That would be a hit.

QFT. He's in my top five. He grew up about 15 minutes away from where I'm from, and we share the same birthday I'm not gonna say how many years older he is then me because that's gonna make me feel older than I look. Talk about an innovator, someone that was using compound rhyme schemes/multis and just had such elevated subject matter at a time when hip-hop as a whole was still very much in its infancy. But after he split from Eric B his production was never the same.

Couldn't go anywhere without hearing this one...

I got no love lost for Papoose, he never wanted to be a big time rapper. He was about as lazy as they come and he has no one to blame but himself. At least he released Nacirema Dream.

I miss that generation of music, the good ole mixtape days.
