Jokic broke the record for the fastest triple-double in NBA history

Post#1 » by Popovich » Fri Feb 16, 2018 3:52 am

The Serb big man of the Denver Nuggets needed just 14.33 minutes on the court in order to have 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

It’s a new record in the history of the NBA and the previous one was 17 minutes back in 1955 by Jim Tucker.

According to ESPN, it’s also the fastest triple-double in the past 20 years in the NBA, taking into account how much time was left in order for the second quarter of the game to be completed.

Nikola Jokic reached a triple-double with 1:54 left in the second quarter.

BTW he easily smashed Jim Tucker’s previous record of 17 minute from 1955 by managing to have 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in 14.33 minutes on the court .

ASAP I will post video of entire first 14.33 minutes of the game.

I feel blessed to be able to have been able to watch every single game Jokic has played in the NBA. What a great joy he is to watch.

He is a truly special player and one of the best draft steals of all time.

Nuggets like to complain about poor attendance. Jokic is likely to increase attendance all by himself. Whatever contract they give him, he'll be worth it just on the business end.

He makes it look so easy. He commented after the Bucks' game that he just played his normal game, maybe a bit more "aggressive". You have to wonder what will happen as he continues to grow.
Canned in Denver.

Is he normally good in high paced games? He looks atrocious tonight vs the Rockets.

Well - what do you think? This thread was started about Jokic in a high paced game. If you've seen many games and/or threads, the more points the Nuggets score, the better Jokic is - the better Jokic is, the more points the Nuggets score. Averaging 120, 130 points in streaks would seem to indicate he is normally good in high paced games.

and tonight was hardly a "high paced game" - the Nuggets just don't matchup well with Houston (terrible defense - not high paced)

He clearly outplayed Capela, also was great in the 4th quarter, too bad he wasn't fed with the ball when Denver was down only by 4 points 2 minutes before the end of the game , he was clowning Capela in the post at that point.

If 21/14/8 is an atrocious Jokic game then I hope to see a few merely bad games from him in the coming weeks

Sure, he had a good game - around the average of recent games. But Mickey8 makes a good point. When a player has a mismatch and is having a great game, most teams will keep giving them the ball. But that's not Malone's way. Neither is it Jokic's way. As Barton joked, "Joker needs more Will-attitude".
