Reggie Jackson cleared for "light running"...

Post#1 » by bstein14 » Wed Feb 21, 2018 11:25 pm

Per the wiretap

Reggie Jackson is entering the next stage of his rehabilitation this week in preparation for a return from a Grade 3 right ankle sprain suffered December 26th.

Jackson has been cleared to begin light running, shooting and continued ankle strengthening exercises. The Pistons medical staff will monitor progress throughout the week in anticipation of beginning an escalation process towards resuming normal basketball activities.

No timeframe has been set for a return to practice or game action.

Looking at the schedule, we have a huge game March 3rd against the Heat which is a back to back I'm hoping he can be back by that point but I know its only 10 days away so its not super likely.

if he's only started light running now he's probably out another month or so.

At least this time they won’t rush him back. Really wish SVG would start another off guard like Langston and just run the first unit through Blake. Ish belongs on the bench even with Reggie out.

Yeah, at this point I think we need to really be realistic about how much longer its going to be.

Him being cleared for light running and shooting at this stage is not a positive sign. It means there's still some ways to go.

And who knows if he's going to be any good or help the team when he does get back. In some ways we're still recovering from the stretch we had last year after Reggie came back.

3 weeks at the EARLIEST. So possibly for the west conf road trip that starts 3/14 where we've got a tough stretch of games:

This sounds positive no? Or maybe I'm just being too positive lol. That's been known to happen.
Gotta think.... he's gonna need to get back in shape. I like the escalation process wording

Ha, I could see us not even bringing him back this season which really blows. If we are looking like a playoff team close to the end of march then we are playing good ball and if we are out of the hunt he may get some burn but is probably best served to just rehab at that point until October.

You guys sure it sounds like another month or in that ball park?

I'd bring him back no matter what. Got to get that court time together with Blake.

Hopefully Andre and Blake can get us to the playoffs and Reggie can be used at the very least to space the floor.

Rod Beard on his twitter thinks just a few weeks.

The key words there are "the week" to me. If he's good to go next week, he could be ramped up again to normal basketball activities. From there, could be another week or two until he's full go. twitter.com/detnewsRodBear…

I feel bad for the people on here that think Reggie will help us get to the playoffs. Probly the same people that think Blake is a superstar.

I think he won't help us this season. The dumbest thing we can do is repeat our past mistakes, and rush him back, out of shape.

Yep almost for sure that's what will happen if everything goes good for him.
So next 9games without him. And 16with him

He's a actual starting level PG, compared to Ish anyways. I'm done with Reggie though given we just can't trust or keep tossing seasons over him like that at that price.

He might not help coming back given he's been out a couple months with not many games to go. He is at least a talent improvement though cause he can create his own shot efficiently or not. Can also at least make a defense respect him out to the 3 unlike Ish destroying our spacing.

I was curious to see if we could make the lineups fit better and just get into the playoffs milking some simple pick and roll between Reggie, Blake and Drummond.

Just rush him back anyways, who cares

Curry had a pretty bad ankle sprain this year and came back great. Wonder what grade sprain that was

It's probably unrealistic to expect him to have any real contribution to the end of the season, when considering his conditioning.

Once again we're at a "who knows" point with the Pistons. If RJ can come back and play with restraint and selflessness, who knows? If he's the the entitled, insecure little P*k he's been on other occasions, again, who knows? He seemed to be embracing a more team oriented approach prior to his injury? The season is getting to the "on the line" stage, so things are going to get interesting. Why we watch.

He's two weeks away from being two weeks away.
