Does anyone have numbers on John's spot up 3 pt percentage? I feel like it's not awful.

That dude is an athletic freak of nature, other players can't do what he 's been doing for the past 8 years.

Tomas has never played this many minutes before on a consistent basis. Even in Euroleague teams only play about one game a week. Brooks is probably trying to manage Tomas' minutes to keep him fresh, and I'd assume they've probably been holding him out of practices etc. If he get injured then we're really screwed.

Case in point:

Plays such as that one during the Wizards’ 115-98 win over Orlando explain why Satoransky has recently spent quality time with the Wizards’ athletic performance specialist, Navin Hettiarachchi, following games. The new starting point guard needs extra stretching and a little more attention for his sore muscles.

“Right now, I see how this league is really tough and why other guys don’t practice that much,” Satoransky said recently, smiling ahead of a scheduled postgame visit with Hettiarachchi. “Because you don’t think about it until you’re in that same position.”

Yup. Plus we got a marathon of games

So it’s understandable

I would honestly date Sato and I'm not even gay, does anyone know if he's single?

Wall shoots .382 on "open" shots from 3-point range on 76 attempts (defender 4-6 feet away)
Wall shoots .333 on "wide open" shots from 3-point range on 66 attempts (defender 6+ feet away)

For comparison
Sato shoots .250 on "open" shots from 3-point range on 12 attempts (really low sample size)
Sato shoots .542 on "wide open" shots from 3-point range on 48 attempts

So, with time, Sato looks like a much better spot up shooter. But when contested, Wall appears better but it's hard to be sure because Sato's sample size is so small.

Good stuff--all in all where I was going with it is if John can get some open spot ups, within the flow of the offense, it's not bad. It's just in a lot of those GIFS where we see an awkward Wall sitting at the 3pt line not moving as Brad iso's, the ball never flows in a way that John finishes the play from 3pt.

Ideally moving forward John plays about 33 minutes a game. A lot of guards on "complete" rosters are averaging 33 or lower--Curry, Irving, Lowry. Meanwhile guys that are kind of forced to do too much are in the high 30's--Westbrook, Lillard, Beal, to name a few. Getting both Brad and John to around 33 minutes a night, that's around 6 extra minutes for Sato to be on the floor, and energy for defense from everyone.

Wow, she's tall! She's got massive heels on, but still. Sato is a legit 6-7.

hmm... as good as these stats look, I think this could be wrong. My eyes tell me he is doing better than this. Are we sure these numbers are right?

That's in 28 minutes per game. If he played full time starter's minutes, he'd be averaging 15, 8 and 4.

And even Chris Paul doesn't have the 4/1 assist/to ratio Sato has - though he has done it before probably several times. Hey, if a PG does ANYTHING pointguardy (no that's not a word... yet) better than Chris Paul, that's an accomplishment.

Those heels are very combine-friendly.

Cleveland's going to be ridiculously pumped up. I'm afraid this is going to get ugly fast. All I can ask is for the Wiz to play with effort and intensity and win the next game.

Glad to take one for the team. :)

Realistically, I'd expect our ball movement to take a hit when John Wall returns. Whether or not that's offset by Wall's talent that he brings, who knows. However, the for sure positive that that SHOULD carry over is that our team is now playing really good defense. That's something that Wall WILL have to buy into as the leader of the team. Defense is contagious -- when you see one guy working hard, it motivates everyone else. Sato has nowhere near the physical talent that Wall has (although he has great length) but he's a great defender.

Sato had a really good game against the Bulls playing a lot of minutes. Granted I kind of agree with you that Meeks had a decent game shooting although he didn't do much passing or on the defensive end. I think it would be a mistake to cut Meeks completely out of the rotation. If Sato can only play 31 minutes, I would rather have him be in the game in crunch time with around 6 minutes left in the 4th.

This was a great win, but so was the OKC team. I think they were the hottest team when we beat them. OKC was playing great, and on an 8 game winning streaking..including a victory over us. We beat them, and they went on to lose 3 more after that. OKC wasn't slumping.

For me, the best win this year was against the Celtics on Christmas. Our rivals, Cozy Boi status on Christmas, and a clutch performance. A+

I'm sure it's been said once or twice, but... what a bleepin crybaby Lebron is! Every time something didn't go his way, he acted like the officials stole his lunch money. If he wasn't such a great player or if Love wasn't coming back, I'd love to play Cleveland in the playoffs.

And if we never beat him in the playoffs, I'll always have that agony of the game when he whispered something to Arenas at the foul line, and Gil misses - recurring nightmare.

I only disagree because I think we are better than the Celtics as constructed this year. Coming into the year I thought Otto was going to challenge Hayward and it was a match up Otto should relish. I thought (like all of the general realGM board- check the early poll) that JW was much better than Uncle Drew. I also thought Beal was better than anyone else the Celtics had- When Hayward went down and the wiz didnt ascend to the number 1 or 2 seed and the Celtics did...it just pissed me off. Either way I think we are better than the Celtics regardless of the record... But the Cavs have Lebron...the Lebron that has crushed me for 14 years from Areanas to JW&Beal... so for Sato to win one for me...in Cleveland...it made me cry. Best win of the year against a team that everyone thinks is superior to the wiz. Beat the warriors next and that’s what’s up! Sato...come on win one for us.
