I can see them trying to trade him for kp like they did last year(according to SAS) to which I'll say no.

This is the craziest BS I've read here this year. Sorry to say that.

Which part? We shouldn't deal KP for Kawhi because he's only going to be a bigger problem for us. No one ever came to NY and became a less problematic player (Zach Randolph is the closest to it).

He'll never be problematic, no matter where. It's blown out of proportion. He's a top 3 player and asset. Going nowhere, never.

The Knicks would be stupid to trade for Kawhi Leonard because he's saying his leg is not right. Spurs are saying their doctors are saying they are.

You know what this reminds me of?

Porzingis lands awkwardly and said, his knee didn't feel stable. Knick doctors say, he's fine! KP then blew out his knee. Gone for a year.

We know about KP's injury. Kawhi's injury is very freaky and we don't know what exactly is going on. I DO know, listen to the man because its his body. If he doesn't feel right...I wouldn't be so eager to trade one damaged bag of goods for another.

We'd be stupid to trade KP for him, but outside of that I'd take the chance to trade anyone else on the roster with our 1st rounder for him. We are talking about maybe the 2nd-4th best player in the league when healthy...

You're assuming the Front Office who clogged up any cap space with Tim Hardaway Jr and the GM can get on the same page to make an impact pick at #10?!?!

Here's the thing...

Outside of Porzingis maybe David Lee, a Knick for 5 seasons, was the biggest impact draft pick the Knicks have had in 17 seasons.

The Knicks have to tank but they won't. The front office STILL clings to that possible playoff spot. So they're going to do anything to get enough measly talent to just FAIL getting it...keeping the Knicks in mediocrity.

There are at least SIX teams who are tanking harder...the Knicks need to tank twice as hard to catch them.

Can they? We'll see.

This IS the repercussions of not getting rid of Courtney Lee, Kyle O'Quinn, and other supporting cast members who will keep the Knicks in mediocrity.

The higher up you are, the more control you have over a draft pick. The lower, then you have to pick from the table scraps.

BTW we have ALREADY gone through Knicks inability to trade or sign free agents.

Younger, Cheaper, more talented...Knicks STILL need a foundation before veterans will sniff this team.

IF you are buying that the Spurs believe he is such a problem that they WOULD trade him, then we should not want him at that price. Knicks have not won a trade since Sprewell

you do have to fill out the rest of the team through trades and free agency though. your picks won't be as good after. and we know that's not that easy. kawhi also doesn't seem like he has friends around the league with his aloof personality. so i don't see him calling guys and convincing them to join him. plus, will the knicks even have the cap room/assets for that ? pointing to the melo trade is not a even good comparison to me because you were supposedly putting him together with amare. who are you putting kawhi with ? timmy ?

Timmy's in the Kawhi deal :-)

Look, this side of this type of argument isn't my forte. I'm having a rough time with it. I never meant to consider real situations where Kawhi would come here because there are none. It's not happening but he's my fave fave player.

So many variables. If we get a top 3 pick I would say our odds skyrocket. If we get the #1 pick and we offered that pick with Noah and Frank for Kawhi, do the Spurs really say no?

and this is why I didn't want Thibs as a coach, yet many on this board seemed to slob over him.

Doesnt really matter much; Jeff over-uses some of the guys in the roster. KP has quite a high avg pt himself before the tearing.

Thibs rides the crap out of guys over 21. Knicks Hornacek rides the hell out of teenagers. Takes time to grow into big bodies.

Exactly. That's another reason why KP should be traded for his own sake. He's playing for coaches that are coaching for their jobs. That's always a recipe for disaster for young players.

I mean, KP did tear his ACL w/o Thibs as coach.

 It'll either get merged back here or the Trades/Transactions threads.

I won't mess with it if you go a little nuts in here about him. These Around threads need something to get lit about. They've been a little quiet this year :(

I <3 <3 <3 Kawhi too. Though it's probably a little different on my end, the basic principles of him being awesome apply. He's getting slept on RN.

Yes. The deal is Timmy and KP

Ayton/KOQ
PF/Beasley
Kawhi/Lance
Frank/Lee
Trey/Muddy

Moving on.
