Nashty & Cactus: Game 60 vs Clippers

Post#1 » by batsmasher » Sat Feb 24, 2018 4:23 am

Standings

How it works
Spoiler:
After each Suns game, an MVP thread will be opened for you to vote for your top 3 players. These threads can be created by anyone, as long as there isn't currently a thread for that game.

Anyone can vote for the 3-2-1 (including other fans from other forums) but you can only vote for the Suns players (or coach).

3 votes to who you think was a the best Suns player.
2 for the second best
and 1 for the 3rd best.

**EDIT: as of January something-or-other 2017, you can now distribute votes for the Nashty and Cactus however you please. You have a total of 6 votes to give out, but now you have the freedom to do what you want with those 6. The only condition which applies is no more than 3 votes can be given to one player (or coach) in either award. **

In the event of a Suns loss, you are also encouraged to vote for the Cactus of the game:

-3 votes for the player most responsible for the loss
-2 votes for the second most responsible
-1 for the third most responsible

Any votes with more than 3 players listed and not in the required format will not count. Voting will close before the start of the next Suns game.

After the thread closes, the votes will be tallied. The highest scoring total Sun gets 3 points, the next 2, and the third gets 1 point towards their season total. In the event of a tie in a count for a game, if the result of the game is a Suns win, a maximum of 4 players will be awarded points. A tie in the event of a loss will only result in a maximum of 3 players getting awarded points.

The player with the highest total at season's end wins the award!

The same applies for the Cactus of the Year, although of course the lowest tally at year's end takes it.

love lou will.

Warren's continuing inability to get going in the first quarter was a big part of the reason we got in the hole that killed us. He put up those numbers in a heroic effort to avoid to lose by 15 rather than 30.

I've been as big a Warren backer as anyone, but let's not hold unaccountable the players who missed the shots that netted us zero points while the Clippers dropped nineteen to start the game. TJ's been a huge part of our routinely terrible first quarters.

1st quarter was a nightmare but in the end he played really good game. If you think TJ deserves -1 then what should our PFs get? -50?

I mean, I did give Dragan a -6. Pretty sure that's the highest I've given to any player this season, and that was for a reason. Dragan was getting destroyed by Tobias Harris and couldn't offset that at all on offense.

The reason I gave Chriss a -2 was because I saw *something* positive in his performance tonight. His shot wasn't falling, and he walked out of bounds on offense, but on *one* possession, he did have a quick series of post moves when he was guarded by a small on the perimeter (don't recall who), forcing the defender to foul him. Doesn't mean much in the box score, but there was a flash there. Anything positive counts for something with Chriss right now.

My standards are different for every player. Dragan recently got upgraded to [some] meaningful standard. Chriss has been in the dumps for me so the fact that he showed anything at all was enough to spare him slightly.

I think TJ should stop being useless in the first. It's been a real issue. Him and Booker both.

Everyone missed shots when we got in that hole. No one shot considerably more than anyone else. At least Warren was one of the guys that hit a good % of his shots once we started digging out, pulled down boards, got some steals and didn't turn it over much.

Those cactus votes may not count since there were too many negative points, and 3 is the max....so much negativity.

After the 1st quarter I though we should give -3 to everyone for this game and move on.

Return to Phoenix Suns
