What happened to the time out there, and Triano walks onto the court during a play.

Lillard must be licking his chops to face this defensive unit.

He wanted a timeout, nobody noticed it, but ended up getting it after Jordan's dunk seconds later.

Do you think if we combined the Suns and Magic, we could break 500?

ha, i have thought about this since we seem to have the front court players and you have all the wings. I think so.
You replace Len with Vuc and you get more experience but Vuc is not exactly tough. He scores, and can be decent on defense but is not a rim protector at all so eh. Replace with Biyombo and you get more rim protection and possible rebounds but bricks for hands and no real offense, although he can clean things up around the basket.

It would be interesting to see who would fit well together. TJ is a better scorer, but Fournier is a capable and versatile scorer so he could start as well and Jackson would need to get some burn too. Then Aaron at the four brings defense but streaky scoring, and Isaac is nice on defense but scoring is still coming along.

Combine any of Elf, DJ Augustine,Book, J Simmons,TJ, Fournier, Jackson, AG, Isaac, Vuc, Biyombo with low key bench help from Bender, Hezonja and Birch and I think they could manage to have a team that could win .500, especially if you put them in the east.

Was happy to see Elfrid getting real starters minutes here. Hopefully this sub 30 minute thing doesn't become a pattern. Sometimes after a slow start he'll work his way into a good game if he gets the opportunity. Today's game was a little janky though after that scoreless start so it may have thrown rotations off a bit.

We can not start next season a PF (Bender or Chriss) who is not ready to play competitive basketball. Bender was overmatched all game long and Chriss was embarrassing himself out there. What a combiantion...

Those guys need to play minutes when they are good enough.
I am OK experiment with them for the rest of the season but I would hate to see that again next season. That puts extra pressure on the rest of the starters.

If he learns to shoot then yes. He doesn’t have to be as good a shooter as Booker but at least respectable.

“Inexcusable,” a visibly frustrated interim coach Jay Triano said in his postgame press conference.

“Why do we practice against each other harder than we play in front of 15,000 people?” he said. “We practice downstairs, we’ll kill each other, jump in front, we do everything. When the lights come on, I don’t know if it’s nerves, fear, experience, we just back up, back up, give in.

“At halftime, I asked them why for two days of practice we want to fight each other, but when we play against somebody else, we “ole” and let them go right past us to the rim.”

“Understand when the lights go on, that’s a professional team that’s going to come right at you,” Triano said. “They’re going to look for your throat and if you don’t respond they’re going to keep driving right at you and they did. And our young guys have to learn to step in. I told them, ‘Use your six fouls stopping someone from going in a direct line rather than reaching in with a little slap here or there.’”

So, Triano was asked, can a coach do anything to get his team to play more aggressively at the start of games, or does that have to come from the players?

“I’ll have to find out,” Triano said. “I called two timeouts, I went after them at halftime, I changed five guys. Give me another idea.”

This sounds like Hornacek a couple of years back.

Josh Jackson was the only player that looked like he wanted to compete in the first quarter, scored the first 4-5 points being down 20 points or something.

Triano should have learnt that young players need STRONG leadership from coach. If it means yelling out loud to get their attention then so be it. As Eddie Johnson said, coaches yelling at players for in-game things then later on being friendly off-court is perfectly fine and players end up respecting the coach on and off the court as well. But being nice on court because you dont want to offend them is stupid.... this is competitive sports. You wont see a military captain whispering orders when his troops are under fire, he will yell orders and pull-in troops aggressively yell at their face to get them to do the right thing for their survival.
