I think it's in part because he was only UCLA's 3rd or 4th best guard last season as a sophomore and doesn't wow me with his athleticism. Not to mention he has an issue with turnovers. Compare him to Brunson - who nbadraft.net has below Holiday. I'd rather have Brunson.

I wouldn't draft Diallo. I don't think he's a top 5 prospect on that Kentucky team.

I think he's going to be a good big wing in time. He has real playmaking ability, but I don't like how they put him on the top of the defense and generally use him as a conventional point guard. Make him a secondary playmaker and take advantage of the skill surplus that creates when you still have a little guy with skills next to him. Teams get obsessed with being big everywhere and don't realize that being skilled everywhere without being small is the real winner. I don't think he's coming out, but I'd love if we had a chance to draft him.

I'd really like to see us draft a high volume, high IQ guard in the middle/late 1st. Landry Shamet would fit the bill perfectly. Hitting 45% from 3 up from last season, and nearly 50% from the field with 5.2 assists per game, dude can shoot the lights out of the gym. Lord knows we need to waste another pick on a project big. Second round I'd be down to see an established bigman like Angel Delgado, someone that can secure rebounds on both ends of the floor and potentially learn some post moves from the G man.

Completely agree. I'm not a fan of Diallo at all. He's way too deliberate in his movements on the court. I don't see any type of impressionable NBA atheltic traits whatsoever. He feels like the 2/3 version of DJ Wilson to me.

I wonder if this is the year the Bucks actually buy into the 2nd round. They've already taken care of selling their pick - kudos to them for pre-emptively sticking to their organizational draft philosophy months ahead of time. But, man oh man, I always find 3-4 players I absolutely love in the 30-40 range.

wasn't there a lot of love last draft for Diallo? I didn't get it then either.

Whats your guys' thoughts on Donte Divincenzo? Where do you see him going? I'd buy a 2nd to get him if he's there. Could fill Snell's role in a pinch (and then some). Would be great if we could unload Snell.

Diallo was the unknown last year as he hadn't had a chance to play against real competition but looked like a great raw athlete. I could still be talked into him depending on who's left on the board when we pick. Cal's system doesn't necessarily play to everyone's strengths. If you recall, there were a lot of people not sold on KAT coming out and I think it was mostly due to the way he was used.

Diallo was definitely an unknown last year and brought intrigue due to his supposed skill-set and measureables. BUT, I disagree w/ u re: Towns. He was the consensus #1 pick. Diallo is nowhere near that conversation. And, though Cal's system is definitely brought under scrutiny I just don't see it at all with Diallo. He plays w/ Vaughn's sense of urgency with even less quickness to the hoop.

Diallo is gonna go as far as his jumper will take him. I can easily be convinced to take a shot on him anywhere outside of the lottery even if he has a 50/50 chance of developing a reliable 3-ball. You just gotta be comfortable with the risk that he ends up like Archie Goodwin if he doesn't.
