You would never trade KP for Kwahi...LIes.
Wouldn’t blink twice and I don’t feel any type of way about it...

Im saying, Bulls Traded for Lavine when he was Hurt and a?. it worked out. Its possible. You know Pop would want him far away from the west if that's the case.
i guess you could be right. i feel like kp is a special case because of his freakish height, but you never know.
you also need assurance from kawhi that he won't just dash to a good team the summer after this one. it just seems like there's too many reasons for it not to happen.

Kanter matches salary, is expiring. Noah/Lee have 1 less year. No rebuilding team is dumb enough to pay THjr starter money

Honestly, Pop doesn't seem like that guy. That's more Belicheckian. Pop is more of a "you are with us or not, we need the best stuff going forward." You have to figure the offers on the table would be packages like Tatum + Sac pick, Jackson + PHX pick. If Jackson and Doncic are on the table for Kawhi with a side dish of Dudley's EC.... hard to beat.
For us, the ONLY way we keep Kawhi is if we have a team around him. That means we keep KP. Spurs may ask for KP, Kanter, Frank, 2019, 2021 and 2020 swap. We obviously cannot do that. We basically NEED Kanter as a starting C now (because we killed Noah, discarded WHG). We did give ourselves a cushion for moving Frankie by obtaining Mudiay and developing Burke. If PHX, LAL, BOS decide to only include low-ball offers, we have a chance.

KP is not going to help keep Kawhi.

KP+Kawhi+good point guard = good franchise.

My worry with his injury is the fact, it's not just muscular damage but nerve damage.
Now, the Knicks have a tradition of signing/overpaying for damaged goods so I think Leonard would fit right in...but if there's a whiff that he's fine...Spurs WILL do whatever it takes to keep him, then take Porzingis in free agency.
