So, Lorenzo Romar coaching the Cats tonight...always does great with high profile recruits....with top recruit Fultz they went 2-16 in the PAC 12. With Murray and Chriss the year before they made the NIT...

and of course....

When former University of Washington basketball stars Markelle Fultz and Dejounte Murray were mentioned Friday in a Yahoo Sports report as receiving money from the ASM Sports agency, it abruptly became a national story with a local angle.

That means the potential fallout is going to become much more intensely watched and acutely felt, with the undeniable potential to do damage to the Husky basketball program.

Former Huskies star Markelle Fultz received $10K from sports agent before arriving at UW, report says
We don’t know yet if it’s a huge deal for UW or a trifling matter, or whether the resulting penalties will be major, minimal — or nonexistent. The fact that Fultz’s name is listed on a ledger as having received a $10,000 loan, and Murray as being paid $500, doesn’t mean the money actually changed hands.

And this is hugely important: Even if it did, there is nothing yet that links the Husky athletic department, nor its coaching staff at the time, to the alleged transaction. It is indeed possible that, as many coaches of implicated programs have already claimed, these side deals were done outside their purview, for the purpose of securing future endorsement deals or representation with no benefit to the school.

In other words, the big question still to be answered is time-honored in the annals of potential wrongdoing: What did he or she know, and when did they know it?

Maybe the FBI has those answers in the vast network of records and wiretaps they’ve amassed in the course of this investigation. But we don’t, which is why I’m going to be cautious in my assessment of any blame due to Lorenzo Romar, the coach when Fultz and Murray played their lone seasons with UW before becoming first-round NBA picks. Romar said Friday he didn’t know anything about the alleged payments until they were revealed by Yahoo on Friday.

And of course Porter Jr was all set to go there until he got fired.

Trae Young return to form shooting 6-10 from 3. To show how important his 3 point taking and making is he only needed 9 points, 7 assists from other areas to finish with 27 & 7.

Luka Doncic shot 2 of 15 in his last 2 games and Bamba had 2 points in 15 minutes before a toe injury.

Bamba scares me because good offensive players can take him out by getting him fouled out quick... Is Bamba smart?

Because players like Jordan, Gobert etc. They're all smart rim protectors avoid fouling and doesn't bite on fakes easily.

Read on Twitter

“1. DeAndre directly stated to the FBI, more than six months ago, that he never discussed or solicited payments from the University of Arizona, or any other university, or any shoe company or anyone on behalf of either - Period. This includes basketball and anything else.

2. DeAndre’s decision to commit to the University of Arizona was based on his family ties to Phoenix and his knowledge of and familiarity with the basketball program. He and his family moved to Phoenix Arizona and he played for Hillcrest Prep Academy.”

Kevin Knox could make a move into the top 7 if he continues his form.

I doubt it. He doesn't do much but score. Shai Gilgeous Alexander with a good game. I have a feeling the Suns end up with a big with their first pick and Alexander with Miami's.

I have seen these last two games against Barcelona and he has played terrible basketball.

I know that he is young and he has a big role, but I think that he is gonna be limited because of his lack of athleticism.

Defensively he can not contain dribble penetration.

I do not want him as Top #3 pick at this moment.

What you guys think about what's going with Arizona Wildcats basketball team? Shaq's son decommits from Arizona. Any chance Shaq's son might choose UCF? What school is he considering?

Why would he choose UCF? Orlando?

So far it's somewhat dubious reporting with this Ayton stuff. If there was any evidence of money being paid to Ayton, I'm sure there would be criminal charges somewhere, like there were for the assistant coach for more minor stuff.

Who knows what Shaq's son is thinking?

So Ayton the local high school and college star in Phoenix.

Phoenix Suns in dire need of star power and big man to turn the franchise around...

Perfect match in any story book....

Come draft night... Ayton gets drafted by Atlanta! Phoenix misses out again....

from the schools he got offers before, Kentucky, LSU, USC, Baylor, Cal, Kansas St. and Georgetown, gotta say though, Kentucky has likely 4-5 bigs already and might be involved in the investigations as well, USC def is, LSU is stacked, they got 2 PFs ranked ahead of him, and Georgetown has a bunch of bigs too, I think Baylor, Cal and Kansas St make the most sense for him.

I mean I think it's fair to say that the team is gonna go down fast here, they have a really poor roster for next year already with likely Trier and Alkins leaving and nobody of note coming in, I'd guess Romar might the the HC job? Miles Simon would be a candidate but he is involved in some AAU team that has funneled some of these guys around, so they might want to stay out from him (Romar has been doubious too but nothing proven).

Like the roster might be down to;

Williams-Barcello
Smith
Randolph
Akot
Jeter-Lee

That's it, not sure how much juice they are gonna get from it.

Yeah, I don't expect them to have much talent next year or much luck in recruiting due to the ESPN report. Though I have no idea if there will ever be any proof that Miller had anything to do with any payments being made, so who knows what will happen with the coaching? It seems like a foregone conclusion he is gone, based on everyone jumping to conclusions, and it would be hard for him to coach again, but I have no idea.

I thought of Miles Simon but I think I'd pass.

I mean look at how little proof was against UNC and how much damage that did in terms of recruiting in the past few years

Arizona has been rebuilt from nothing twice. They’ll be fine it’ll just take a while. Have to be patient.

Penn St covering up child rape for 15 years didn’t get the death penalty.
