Loyalty Draft (70s to Now) (Draft Complete)

Post#1 » by ChicagoSportsFan21 » Sat Feb 24, 2018 7:02 pm

Welcome to the Loyalty Draft!

Image

Draft Rules:

1. Subject to the rules to be set out below, players from the 1969-70 season to the 2016-17 season will be available to be drafted. You can draft players that came into the league before the 1969-70 season, but seasons can only be chosen from 1969-70 season or onward. Each player must have played at least half of the regular season games for the year that you are using.

2. You will be required to draft a total of 8 players. Players must play a minimum of 8 minutes in your rotations.

3. Only players who have played (regular season or playoffs) for two franchises maximum through 2016-17 as defined by Basketball Reference are eligible. Franchises played for before 1970 can count toward the player's total to get to a maximum of two teams. There are no game minimums for the franchise count, so long as he played for the franchise at some point. Relocation of franchises is considered "one franchise" as well as ABA franchise becoming NBA franchise counts as "one franchise".

4. The winner of the draft will be decided by a hybrid with rankings followed by a four team playoff. You may not change or delete your vote once a vote has been made during playoffs.

5. You must state the specific season of the player you choose to draft. You don't have to do it right away when you make your selection but you must state it on your team roster page before the playoffs/rankings begin.

6. Your team will be allowed a combined total of 85.0 FGA corresponding with the specific seasons indicated for each player.

7 We will be doing a modified snake draft. It will go like this: ABBABABA

8. Players will get a maximum of a 2-hour window to make their selection when they are on the clock from Round 1 to Round 4. From Round 5-8, players will get a maximum of a 1-hour window to make their selection when they are the clock in order for the draft to move at an efficient pace/core already in place. Please be aware if you have the first or last pick in the draft and have back to back picks, you will be only having 2 hours for both picks from Round 1-4 or 1 hour for both picks from Round 5-8. If you still have not chosen a player by then, you will be skipped. Also, if you know ahead of time that you won't be available to make your pick on the clock then please PM your selection to another participant or myself. NOTE: If you miss one pick and have failed to make it by the time your next pick comes around, you will be skipped. The commissioner reserves the right to skip or replace coaches as needed.

9. The clock will start at on February 25th (Sunday at 9 AM EST).The clock will be stopped from 12 AM EST to 9 AM EST.

10. Draft order will be completely randomized.

11. After you have made your draft selection, please quote and/or PM the person that goes after you so they will know that it is their turn and they are on the clock. The quoting is only a courtesy. The clock begins immediately after a pick is made. You may not change your pick after it has been made, even if the next person in the order has not picked yet. Also if a pick is ineligible, the participant can re-pick at anytime and the next participant will be able to pick when an ineligible pick is made. Please double check your pick to make sure it is eligible before making your pick so this does not occur.

12. You can use the .85 multiplier on pre-merger seasons. Example-After multiplying .85, 29.84 will be rounded to 29.8 and 29.85 will be rounded to 29.9 (round above 5, round below 5).

Please include this in your roster:

. Players
. Rotations (all your players must play a minimum of 8 minutes)
. Draft selections
. The most important of all, you must show the total FGA per player on your roster AND a total sum of each players FGA to display that it is 85.0 FGAs or less. You can use the .85 multiplier on pre-merger seasons. You will round down if less than 5 or round up if greater than 5 (example 19.58 rounds to 19.6 while 19.52 rounds to 19.5).
. Write-ups for rankings if you like to do one

Found out it's my turn and the guy I wanted all along is available so without any hesitation I select one of the most unstoppable players in NBA history: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

David Robinson
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy
